Myles called me later that night.
"Hey"
"Wanna come over?." I could sense the pain in his voice.
"Sure"Myles lived alone in parents' home since he began college. They were both out chasing their dreams in different parts of New York.
They both came over once a month."My folks are getting divorced." was all he muttered when I got there. I sensed he didn't want to talk about it so we sat there in silence until we fell asleep.
It hurt me to know that he was going through so much pain.I told my parents about it to see if they could help. Myles' parents were members of the Afro Praise. They're African Americans. Dad got involved. Mum spoke to them on phone too.
They agreed to hold on with the divorce proceedings and try to sort things out between them. Myles had no sibling so his family was just his mum and dad. It must really hurt to see them separate.
And ironically, these things keep happening to so called followers of Christ. Why can't they open their eyes to the truth- the truth that I see. Jesus doesn't love us, he just wants us as slaves.

It was three days to my birthday- our birthday. I can't believe after sharing a mum, dad and a brother, I have to share my birthday too.Myles got better. His mum moved in with him. I just hoped everything between his parents would be resolved.
Jayla and Carrie were back from their luxury trip. And I'm certain dad will have to have an extension made in her wardrobe. Carrie slept over at our place.
A party planner was hired to take care of everything.
We choose the theme colours purple and grey. Jayla, of course, picked purple. Who in their right mind would pick purple, tell me. If she had picked white, it would have been a blast but nooo... she had to pick purple... goodness!
I'm never throwing a birthday party with her ever again.
"Never happening. You're stuck with me for life." Jayla remarked with a cocky smile.
"Sad truth."
"Or maybe... there's something you could actually do to get me off your back."
"This isn't going to be good."I spent of the rest of the day with Jayla at the spa.
"You know I don't fancy these stuff."
"Oh c'mon. Look at your skin, it's so dry. When was the last time you had a good massage? Look at all those little bumps on your face and your hair.... goodness, we'll need something with anti-breakage. Don't get me started on your nails.
I know all these are vanity but trust me, when you look good, you'll feel good. Your body is the temple of God. You have to keep it in good shape.
Besides, this's the only way to get me off your back."
She winked at me. I rolled my eyes.I must say, Jayla was right. I had a head to toe makeover. With a face massage, body massage, skin treatments, manicure and pedicure, I felt different, in a good way. I could feel a new sense of confidence.
I had my hair straightened too.
"Oh no, Jayla, what happened to all my natural curls."
"Don't be such a dummy. It was straightened not permed, it's only temporary."
I rolled my eyes. But all in all, I was glad we got some sister time to ourselves. Jayla was amazing and I'm glad she's my sister.
That night, Myles called.
"Hey, there's a lovely drama performance at the theatre tonight, wanna go?"
"Sure."
"Tonight's going to be a blast."And it certainly was a blast.
