he brings me up when words bring me down.

Sometimes some days were harder than others.

All the New Jersey boys knew this. It was tough being on a platform.

Being seen by anyone? Being criticized? Poked fun at for whatever you wore or how looked?

Despite the harsh part of it, it was fun.

Of course, every little to not so little mistake seen by the public eye would haunt them.

What was worse?

People online trying to ruin your life or the virtual mean comments that cut deeper than any psychical wound. Eventually, you learn to tune it out and live your life.

You become numb to the harsh words.

Except, some days were harder than others. It felt like every word was whispered into your ear, it felt like you psychically couldn't breathe, like someone was pressed up against you trying to choke the life out of you.

Kairi sighed as he stared at his screen. He hasn't gotten a text back from Mattia. He had spammed the boy and instead was met with quietness on the other end, he had first been calm about until an hour passed and no response was given.

Then another hour.

Sure, if Mattia wanted to be alone that was fine except they had made plans and he had checked up on the other to see if they still were ready to hang. That's where he was met with radio-silence.

"Answer already, fucker." He grumbled, eyes narrowed and face pinched in concern.

Another minute ticked by.

"Okay! Well, I'm going Ma! I'll see you soon." He called out, springing from his bed and towards the front door, he slammed the front door shut and locked it with his key.

Yeah, maybe he was overreacting but he was nervous okay?

Mattia was always responsive to his texts, sometimes a minute late but no more than a minute. Two hours?  That was different. He would always give a heads up if he was going radio silent. Which, was rare may he say.

As his boyfriend and CEO of the Mattia Fan Committe, he always knew what was up.

Kairi let out an exhale as he reached Mattia's house. He quickly moved over to the cracked window of the basement bedroom and crouched down. There he saw a lump on the bed.

Kairi frowned and knocked on the window. His fist colliding with the glass and echoing; first, no response then he did it a few times before he saw a shift on the bed.

"Mattia," he called out in a sing-song tone," come out, come out, from your cave, Dino."

Yet, no attempt to move at all.

"Seriously, dude. Open the window before I bother your front door."

No movement.

A frustrated sound left his lips.

"Babe."
