ANGEL was tasked with guarding the gates of Heaven—no, that's not right, the angel was tasked with guarding the grounds of Heaven.

He didn't disobey. He did as told.

Angel sat on the edge of the cloud and watched over the tiny specimens on the ground bustling about their day with a small smile.

Guardian angels do not smile!

Immediately, the smile fell from his face as dull eyes took in earth's layer.

The Angel remained like this each day watching as the sun rose and set with each breath.

"Hey!" A sharp voice barked.

Angel immediately straightened to attention his dull eyes snapping open.

"Angel thing, person, dude..?" The voice trailed off, it was low, yet high.

The Angel frowned as he stared down at the cloud below him. Immediately, his white wings opened, a warning to not get too close.

"Chill, dude, I wasn't gonna do non'."

It was a male. A teenager to be exact. He was slightly taller than the Angel and he was beautiful.

"How dare you be even close to Heaven's gate." Angel spat as he took in the the black aura surrounding the demon.

"Well, it's not hard, you know? I kinda just poof! And, I'm here?" The demon chuckled, "It's not hard work."

The celestial being made a disgusted face at the demon below him.

"Look, I'm Mattia. Nice to meet you." He paused, "Nice to meet you, Mattia, is what you would say..but, whatever, I'm here to make sure you dudes don't get too close to us. Ya know? You dig? No, okay."

Angel hummed as he filed the name he was given away.

"Mattia.." He said, tasting the name on his tongue.

Quite fitting.

"Yes?" The demon purred, a smirk curling on his lips.

"Nothing, filth."

Mattia groaned and looked away. The Angel couldn't help but smile.

A forbidden relationship blossomed that day.

Each day passed and the Angel listened to the demon speak. He resisted from engaging for awhile but he couldn't help it, the demon was interesting, every time he spoke it was hard to ignore.

Mattia was special.

"You don't have a name?" Mattia questioned, a furrow between his eyebrows as if this fact was wrong.

"Why would I? Names are for humans." Kairi stated—no, recited.

"The fuck logic is that?"

"Our Father's logic but I suppose it's hard for a demon to grasp."

Mattia ignored the jab—he was used to it from the Angel—and pondered.
