Do you ever wonder about Angels and Demons?

Have you ever thought about a life that isn't yours?

Do you ever wonder what happens to Angels?

Did you know they can Fall?

Did you know that when Angel's cry their tears turn gold?

Well, Kairi did.

The Bible will tell you that Lucifer caused the problems. It will tell you that He wanted them to be more important to God; now, that's up to you to believe it or not.

Kairi would say differently if you asked.

After all, he was the one who caught the Angel.

Mattia watched the clouds open up below his brethren's feet. He watched as the sounds of screaming filled the air; he remembers clinging desperately to an Archangel named Lucifer—the older angel a big brother to all.

He remembers sobbing as he clung to him and then falling.

The cloud beneath him opening up.

He saw Heaven's Gates open but for the wrong reason as he watched the golden glow get farther and farther away from him as he fell.

He remembers watching the other angels fall beside him, it was like a commit, the fire swallowing him whole, his wings slowly turning gray but to his eyes they were rapidly decaying. His grace seemingly slowly being stripped from him.

He couldn't fly if he wanted to.

He couldn't escape the agony.

He couldn't stop himself from turning into a Fallen.

Into an enemy of Heaven.

Then, arms grabbed him, he felt them wrap around him. He felt wings barricade him from the fall.

Then he woke up.

Mattia clung to a demon.

"Holy shit, you're young." The Demon whispered, red eyes staring in golden ones, "Why the fuck are you guys falling?"

Mattia should've pushed him away, should've fought, he should've acted different, he knew this. Instead, he clung to the vile creature and sobbed.

"He hates us! He doesn't love us anymore! My brothers and sisters just..gone," The Angel wailed, "gone..just gone..everyone.."

Now, what would you do if you were a Demon?

Naturally, you'd kill the Angel.

Kairi should've given his nature but as stared at the boy curled up in his lap with his long limbs tucked into himself hiding in his chest even though he didn't fit—well, he couldn't. He was a demon but he wasn't cruel.

"Shh, I've got you, I've got you."

That day two things occurred; God let the Angels fall and a Demon happened to catch one.

The Demon stared at the boy in his arms. His red eyes ran over broken wings that twitched with ever exhale the Angel let out. He stared at the halo that hovered above his head that sparked but otherwise seemed dead. Gently, he ran his fingers through the Angel's wings.

The feathers that once shined gold and were held high were drooped and tarnished with an ugly gray.

The Demon sighed before bringing his hand away stopping his gentle touches and snapping his fingers.

The Angel opened his eyes and stared at the room around him; a bedroom, nice and clean yet he knew it wasn't normal given the aura of the place. It reeked of dark energy.

"You can stay with me until you're healed. Don't argue. You're weak and any other demon would gladly have your head." The Demon grumbled, "My name is Kairi."

Kairi; sea, ocean, such a simple name for a vile creature.

The Angel blinked and nodded.

Somehow, this Demon wasn't scary. He didn't seem cruel or wrong he was—dare he say it—nice.

The Angel hummed and curled up into the Demon's chest who had yet to even remove the leech—Angel—from his body.

Kairi let out an annoyed sound at this, "If you're gonna be annoying can you at least do that on the bed once we're comfortable?" He  growled, "Dumb bird."

Kairi put them on the bed and the Angel had yet seemed to remove himself from his hold.

What had the Demon got himself into?

"Can I at least get your name?" The Demon huffed.

"Mattia." Came the soft response.

Mattia; Gift of God.

Kairi blinked.

What a cruel joke the Lord seems to enjoy making.
