Mattia was impulsive. Kairi wasn't. Mattia was easy to rile up. Kairi wasn't. Mattia was a lot of things; childish being one of them.

Kairi was more mature than Mattia.

He knew when to draw the line when things became too much when Mattia didn't. Mattia was more inclined to being goofy or pushing a topic too much. That was just Mattia.

Yet, they balanced each other out that way.

Kairi sighed as he watched Mattia get riled up. Gently, he grabbed Mattia's wrist and gave him a stern look which the other returned with a huff.

"Stop."

Mattia did.

There was just something about their dynamic that was easy. Mattia trusted Kairi and that wasn't to say he trusted his friends less; yes, he trusted all his friends but Kairi was always consistent. Kairi knew Mattia like the back of his hand, he knew when something was off, he knew when Mattia was thinking too much and Mattia knew Kairi. He knew when Kairi was sad and why, he knew how to make him smile, he knew what Kairi thought even if he wasn't vocal about something. He knew when Kairi furrowed his eyebrows at someone it was because he didn't like them.

Kairi was more or less his personal decision maker.

His mind.

He prevented Mattia from fully doing stupid shit but Kairi wasn't here right now and really nothing could go wrong.

Yeah, maybe, telling Mattia to climb a construction building was something stupid but Mattia still doing it was stupider.

Mattia isn't one to back down on a challenge.

So, as he climbed the site he grinned in triumph until a shout of surprise could be heard from bellow.

"Mattia Polibio!" A familiar voice cried out. Fury hidden within the tone.

Mattia froze.

"I swear to God if you don't come down here I will personally bury you in the ground." Kairi snarled.

Mattia felt a shiver go down his spine. Kairi wasn't usually so viscous. No, Kairi was sweet and happy. He was bubbly and charming.

Though, this Kairi was angry and worried and he wanted his boyfriend back on the ground where he could see him and make sure he wasn't hurt. He needed Mattia not to be hurt. He needed a live Mattia not one splattered on the ground. As he watched Mattia climb down from the construction building his anxiety slowly lowered. The fear squeezing his heart eased. Yet, lingered.

As soon as Mattia's feet hit the ground Kairi grabbed his arm. He pulled the taller into his space and glared.

"Are you stupid? Seriously?! What the hell were you thinking—oh, wait, you never do! You could've fallen and gotten hurt. Fuck, I don't know maybe even snapped your neck. Think, Mattia!" Kairi's voice was low and sharp. Each word like a slap against his Mattia's face.

Mattia let out a pitched sound at the scolding before straightening up.

"Jesus, it's not that serious. I was just joking around, Kai. I wouldn't have gotten hurt. We do stupid shit all the time just chill."

Apparently, that was the wrong thing to say because he could've sworn steam nearly came out of Kairi's ears before the older schooled his features.

"Chill? Alright, Matti. Go ahead. Climb the building again."

His tone was even and cold and Mattia found himself wishing he kept his mouth closed.

Kairi was laying a trap out. He was daring the other to disobey him. It left Mattia feeling out of place. It made him not want to do anything to upset him. It tugged at his subconscious to please Kairi by doing something write so he but his lip and shook his head.

Kairi almost allowed the smirk onto his face.

"Good." He cooed, gently rubbing the bottom of Mattia's lip with his thumb before leaning in a giving a peck.

Warmth blossomed inside Mattia at the pleased look on Kairi's face.

"Let's go home, okay? I don't want you doing stupid shit when I'm not here. I don't want to be on the receiving end on some fucking phone call saying you're in the ER."

Mattia nodded to Kairi's concerns.

Yes, Mattia was impulsive.
Mattia did things without thinking of the repercussions and it scared Kairi.
He knew Mattia didn't think with his brain. He followed whatever his heart thought was good at the moment. He did whatever to gain a rush of adrenaline and it was fine.

If he was there.

Kairi was Mattia's mind.
He helped with decisions and made sure to analyze the situation if Mattia didn't.

Mattia was Kairi's heart.
He showed Kairi the fun in things and the small things to not worry about. He made sure Kairi didn't miss out on moments that were to be cherished.

It was just their dynamic.
They balanced each other out.
