Kairi got whatever he wanted; he was handed everything and anything on a silver platter.
He was sick of it.
He was sick of the people, the business parties, the butlers, the women. He hated it all. He hated that he had to pretend. He wanted to go out, he wanted to get messy, he wanted to be fucked up.
God, he just wanted to be a teenager.
Kairi tucked his white t-shirt in and pulled on his converse. He stared in the mirror in his white, pristine room, that looked too dull even with all the shenanigans inside of it.
Kairi scoffed at his reflection.
When he blinked again he was standing outside school. Right. He had that.
Kairi held his head high as he walked into the building that had life that was the most unexpected place he was ever allowed to be at because he had to be at it. He also hated it; just, not as much because of who he got to see.
"Mattia!" A voice called out into the hallway.
"Hey, Ale!" Mattia called back, a smirk curling onto his lips.
Kairi leaned against the lockers as he watched the duo interact. Mattia, well, he was—
"What are you staring at, princess?" Mattia snarked when he caught Kairi's gaze.
Well, he was a dick.
"Nothing, much it seems. Filth tends to be unappealing to the eye." Kairi responded, a grin slipping onto his face when he watched Mattia's eyebrow twitch.
Mattia opened his mouth to say something unpleasant, no doubt, when the bell rang saving Kairi in time.
He couldn't stop thinking of the other boy. Mattia was just something. He was everything Kairi wanted, he could tell, he knew the other boy was unkept and did as he pleased. He knew Mattia was smart in two areas; school wise and street wise. He's seen Mattia with his own little crew walking down the streets as if they owned it and God, he wanted that.
As classes ticked on, Kairi got more and more impatient, he just wanted to go home. He was annoyed about everything so as soon as the bell rang he was out. He pushed through the students and was getting closer to the exit door when he felt a hand grab his wrist and pull him into a separate, empty, classroom.
"What the fuck!" Kairi growled, rounding on the boy who grabbed him only to halt his movements.
"Hiya, sugar," Mattia purred, a grin on his face, "Or, should I say, princess?"
Kairi rolled in eyes at the jab.
"What do you want, Mattia?"
"Well, where are your manners? Thought they taught that to your type of people."
Kairi gritted his teeth in annoyance.
"Is this a jab sesh or something? I am trying to go home so if you could carry this along it would be great, unless, your type of people are incapable of holding a simple, mundane, conversation?"
Mattia let out a chuckle and nodded his head.
"A kid I know is throwing a party. I just thought I'd let my favorite princess in on it. If you wanna come?"
Kairi stared at the other in confusion; he tried to search Mattia's eyes for the joke to see if the other boy was fucking around. He never found what he was looking for. Tentatively, he nodded.
"Alright, cool, I'll pick you up at eight then?"
Kairi perked up when Mattia handed his phone to Kairi; silently, he was asking for the other boy's phone number which Kairi was glad to give.
What the fuck.
Kairi could only think that simple sentence as he walked back home and into his room. He doesn't recall how he ended the interaction with Mattia probably poorly but he was ecstatic. He couldn't believe it.
His relationship with Mattia was odd. They jabbed at each other but they never meant what they said. Their words may be how they communicate but their eyes, well, they said a whole lot more when they stared down one another.
Kairi let out a breath as he sat on his bed.
He was going to a party not one his Dad forced him to attend but to one that Mattia invited him to.
This was it.
He was finally going to live again.
