Mattia was hurting.
He was also impulsive.
He couldn't stand the pain. Every comment, every jab, every tiktok that made fun of him hurt.
It made him question everything and everyone.
Mattia stared at himself in the mirror; red eyes stared back and the bathroom mirror tilted on it's axis making the teen stumble as he moved to get near the toilet.
He wanted that video game perspective. He didn't want his over analysis one that got him hurt.
He should've hit the blunt once or maybe three times not the excessive amount he did. He didn't mean to hit it too much. He had just wanted to feel something else and got impatient when the effect wasn't immediate; a fool's mistake.
He had just wanted to not feel and now he was feeling too much.
Mattia grabbed the rim of the toilet and groaned. Everything was too much. The lighting gave him a headache, moving made him nauseous, he could feel the floor shifting. He could feel the room spinning and he groaned in agony.
It was hell. He needed someone to ease his pain. He needed soft, gentle, touches. Mattia thought of Kairi because Kairi was soft. He was gentle.
He wanted his Kairi.
He wished for the older boy to be here; to take his pain away and why did that voice sound exactly like Kairi?
"'Hey, Tia. Shh, hey, shh. It's okay. Yes, I'm here. I know, I know, it sucks but you're gonna have to puke, buddy."
His soft voice eased tension within the youngest as he retched again. His body heaving forward as chunks of vomit emitted from him.
Kairi watched with a frown as he crouched down next to Mattia and gently rubbed soothing circles on the boys back."Oh, Matti." He soothed.
Kairi had been at home when he received the phone call from Mike—a senior—who had been with Mattia at the time saying that he should stop by. He had told Kairi about Mattia hitting a blunt and doing it too much; Kairi never got the full details as he had already been in the car with Mateo to get Mattia in a fit of rage. He couldn't believe Mattia would do something without telling him.
He knew Mattia was reckless but to do it like this?
Kairi had stormed into the house and had refrained from making a disturbed face at the many teens all stoned out or tripping on something. It made Kairi's skin crawl that his Matti was in a house full of these people.
The senior had pointed Kairi to a closed bathroom and when he opened the door, well, Mattia was a pathetic sight to see.
Mattia had his pupils blown wide and cheeks flushed. The youngest had whined out in confusion at Kairi's presence. Kairi had simply shushed him as he crouched next to the teen.
They spent a good few minutes in the bathroom with Kairi wincing in sympathy for Mattia when the younger puked to the point there was nothing. Kairi ran his fingers through Mattia's hair and murmured reassurances.
As soon as the duo got home Kairi switched the lights off and tucked Mattia into bed. He wanted to interrogate him, ask him why, tell him that it would be all right that no one can hurt him when he's around but he didn't. He couldn't. Mattia was fucked up and not sober enough for a conversation.
"Kairi.."
Mattia whispered in his sleep, nuzzling against Kairi's side, clinging to the boy."Shh," He cooed, "I'm right here."
Tomorrow.
There was always tomorrow.
