The flights back home had been a little bit of a nightmare. They only just got onto their plane after going to the wrong terminal and then when they landed back at their airport in New York, their bags had gone missing. The men sat at the airport for hours before their bags were located and soon they were heading back to Maryse's. All agreeing to live there until they found a new home. Simon had already started boxing up the apartment while they were away. His stuff was gone and at Izzy's and most of the communal rooms had been boxed up too. Magnus was too nervous to go back to the apartment for a while so he and Alec decided to pack up their stuff at a later date when they found their new place.

They laid on their bed and smiled at each other as Magnus cuddled into him sleepily. They were still in the Switzerland time zone and it was nighttime there so they were ready to sleep. Maryse had brought them up some soup and homemade bread to eat while they were sorting out their bags. Now Magnus was so tired that once they were cuddled up, he didn't last long before he fell asleep.

The next morning, Magnus rubbed his eyes as he sat up and smiled at Alec before he got up and went for a shower. He headed down the corridor to the bathroom when he bumped into Maryse.

"Morning" Magnus said to her and smiled.

"Morning, how did you sleep?" Maryse asked.

"Very well thank you. Did you want me to make everyone breakfast when I've had a shower?" He offered, wanting to be polite.

"You know what, that would actually be great. Thank you. I need to get ready for a job interview" She said and grimaced slightly.

"Job interview? For what?" Magnus asked curiously.

"For a little book store. It's nothing too dramatic but I haven't had a job interview in years so I'm really nervous" Maryse chuckled. "Silly isn't it? A grown woman in her late forties worrying over a job interview"

"Not at all. It's a big deal. Actually, I need to speak to you" Magnus sighed.

"About what? Is there a problem?" She asked worriedly.

"No. No nothing wrong. It's just that... well... Alec told me you lent the money to get me away from them... men" Magnus said, concerned that maybe Maryse would be annoyed at Alec for telling him. "I just wanted to say thank you"

"Oh, Magnus, you don't need to thank me. You are marrying my son so you are now my son too. I would do anything to help you" Maryse smiled, easing Magnus's worry as he smiled back.

"I need to pay you back though and now that I am good for the money..." Magnus shrugged "... I need to know if you want it in cash or into your bank account"

"Why are you good for it? What do you mean?" Maryse asked, confused.

"Because of the inheritance?" Magnus replied and furrowed his brows. "Did no one tell you?"

"No. No one has said anything. You have money?" She enquired.

"I... I'm a millionaire now, by quite a huge amount actually." Magnus shrugged. "Anyway, I want to repay you and give you extra as a thank you for everything you have done for me"

"Magnus... I... I don't know what to say. You don't need to do that. My thirty-five thousand would be a great help" Maryse said and gave him a strained smile. She felt really bad for asking for it but she needed the money.

"Of course. I would like to give you more. I can tell you are much like Alec though and it's going to be a fight" Magnus chuckled. "Will you take one hundred thousand?"

"W-what? No... No way. Magnus, that is far too much" Maryse gasped and shook her head. "Don't be silly. Please, just the money I leant is enough"

"Maryse, do you have any idea on how much I now have? Trust me, a hundred thousand is nothing. I would like to give you more but I need to get the house" He chuckled.
