Alec woke up in the middle of the night and smiled as he looked at Magnus. They had gone up to bed once they had gotten their breath back and fell asleep wrapped up in an embrace. However, when Alec woke up he was on the edge of the bed with Magnus sprawled out in the middle of the bed with a small smile on his face.
He couldn't help a wider smile spreading across his face as he watched Magnus's nose crinkle up slightly before making a little groan and then his face relaxing again. Alec went to chuckle slightly but then Magnus moved closer pushing Alec from the bed. Alec yelped slightly as he hit the floor and looked up at Magnus who was now awake slightly. His eyes barely open and his hair flopping over his forehead as he looked at Alec.
"What are you doing down there?" Magnus mumbled and rubbed his eyes.
"You pushed me off" Alec chuckled and stood up. "Move over"
Magnus frowned and looked beside him and snorted sleepily as he wiggled over to the other side and smiled at Alec as he climbed back onto the bed, instantly moving next to Alec again and putting his head on his chest. His finger brushing through Alec's chest hair.
"Sorry," He said as he looked at him tiredly.
"It's okay" Alec smiled fondly and kissed his head. "I best get used to having a small part of the bed"
"Mmhmm" Magnus sighed as he snuggled closer.
"Unless we buy a bigger bed," Alec said.
"Nice try, I'm still going to be on your side" Magnus chuckled.
"True" Alec laughed. "I still can't wait to marry you though"
"Good because you're stuck with me forever" Magnus smiled. "Now be quiet, I'm trying to sleep"
"You don't want to talk about the wedding then?" Alec smirked and laughed when Magnus moved to look at him happily.
"Okay, now I'm awake" Magnus beamed. "So... wedding talk?"
"Yes, wedding talk" Alec smiled and moved a piece of hair from Magnus's forehead. "Do you want a more traditional wedding or a... different wedding"
"I think we should have an outside wedding," Magnus said. "Actually, I have a venue in mind that I liked"
"Really? Where?" Alec asked, wondering when Magnus made a decision like this and why he hadn't mentioned it before.
"The Botanic Garden" Magnus replied and chewed his lip.
"Oh that is a beautiful place" Alec smiled as he thought about the place.
"It is. Plus, they have indoor and outdoor facilities so we could have the wedding outside and the reception inside. Nobody has to travel far or book hotels. If it rains, we just move the wedding inside too. They provide food and drinks too" Magnus smiled. "I also thought about when we buy our own house, we can make sure we buy one with a big garden which I wanted anyway, and we could hold the wedding there"
"Baby, I love both options. We can look into both if you want?" Alec said happily, loving the excited look on Magnus's face.
"Yes, please. We may fall in love with a house that doesn't have a big enough garden but you never know. What would you like?" Magnus asked. "It's our wedding, not just mine"
"Well, to be honest, I always thought about a traditional wedding but I think that's just because I haven't ever really thought about it but I love the idea of having an outdoor wedding" Alec beamed. "I would like to help with the cake deciding and the colour scheme though"
"Of course. What were you thinking about the colour scheme?" Magnus inquired, now sitting up next to Alec.
"I love the idea of pastel colours. Maybe pale blues, greens and pinks?" Alec said. "I love the idea of blue periwinkles and pale pink roses"
"I love that!" Magnus said excitedly. "Okay. Okay. So the flowers are chosen because that is perfect. Then we could have place green ribbons on the backs of the chairs to blend it together, with lighter coloured leaves mixed in with the flowers"
"Perfect" Alec beamed. "The boys will do the music. Simon is very talented with a soundboard and Jace can play the guitar"
"But wait... they should be enjoying the wedding too and dancing? Not working Alexander" Magnus frowned slightly and rolled his eyes fondly.
"Oh yeah. That's true. Okay so hire a band?" Alec shrugged.
"Yeah or a DJ?" Magnus grinned.
"A DJ? I wouldn't have expected you to want a DJ" Alec laughed.
"Why? I wouldn't mind it. At least then we can do whatever song we want and guests can make requests" Magnus smiled.
"I never thought about that," Alec chuckled. "Okay. So, a DJ it is. Food?"
"I don't think we can decide that until we speak to some caterers," Magnus said.
"I mean do you want a sit-down reception or a party buffet?" Alec snorted.
"Oh. Oh, I see. Okay... erm... what do you think?" Magnus frowned as he thought as he hadn't thought about that part.
"Well sit down is more classy. Party buffet is more sociable" Alec shrugged. "So depends on what you want"
"Maybe a sit-down menu will be better? I just think it will be nice to have some sort of tradition in the wedding and we can have that food at the reception than at the after-party we can have a small buffet" Magnus smiled.
"An after-party? I thought you have a wedding then the reception and that's it" Alec asked confused.
"No Alexander" Magnus chuckled. "All the other weddings I have been to have the ceremony, then the reception with the menu and the speeches, then you have the after-party for friends that weren't invited to the main wedding"
'That's kind of rude isn't it?" Alec frowned. "Sorry but you're not important enough to come to the main event but sure, come to the party after?"
"It's not like that Alexander. Some people prefer to have a smaller wedding or have to make cost-effective decisions" Magnus smiled.
"But we don't have that many friends or family that would mean they couldn't all come" Alec shrugged.
"That is true" Magnus nodded, unable to argue with that logic. "Okay so we just do the wedding and combine the reception with the after-party and have a sit-down meal with everyone and then party it up after?"
"Perfect" Alec smiled happily and kissed his cheek.
The two men grinned as they carried on speaking about the wedding. Thinking about days and times to have the wedding but because they weren't sure of the venue they couldn't make too many decisions about that before moving onto the guest list, which was shorter then they both expected. Neither realising how short of friends they really were which was amusing to them both. Soon after they both fell asleep again. This time both in the middle of the bed as Magnus laid half on Alec comfortably.
