Fifteen year ago.....
"Mommy!"
"Mommy!"
"Mama!"
"My loves how are you?"
"I'm fine! Where's our new baby brother!" I asked excitedly.
"His inside the room, but you must all promise to be very quiet." Mom said and we all nodded.
Mom gently pushed the door open and we all walked towards the cradle. Inside lay a cute baby boy. His hair was bit brown and yet black at the same time. He had icy blue eyes and chubby cheeks.
Ronan stared at him in silence (his the silent one) and Ruby stared at him for a while before poking him on the cheek, making her giggle.
"Sssshhh!" We shushed her and she kept quiet. Daddy walked in and we all jumped and ran towards him.
"DADDY!" We all yelled (except Ronan, the silent one) and at the same time the little baby started crying. Mom sighed before picking him up and singing him a lullaby.
"I swear to God Alessandro, if you give me more children I'm going to kill you." Mom hissed making daddy chuckle.
"You know you can't raise them without me." Daddy mused wiggling his eyebrows.
"Wanna bet?" Mommy challenged and daddy gulped before looking down at all of us.
"Hey kiddos, how does it feel to have a new baby brother?" Daddy said kneeling down to be the same height as us.
"Great!"
"Amazing!"
"Cool!"
Ronan remained silent as always.
"All of you have a new responsibility now. The four of you must always look out for him because he's your little brother and he needs you. Understood?" Daddy asked and we all nodded.
"Enough with responsibilities!" Mommy says, "what are we going to name him?"
Ruby had a thoughtful look before her eyes lit up like a Christmas tree,"Barney!"
Mom looked at dad, dad looked at mom, mom and dad looked at Ruby. "Sweetheart, that's a.... Very pretty name. But we want all your names to start with R."
"Why?" Rolland asked and daddy shrugged.
"It's your mom's and I's favorite letter."
I thought for a while before a name came into my head, "what about Ranger?"
"Why must you guys name after cartoons?!" My mom said but my dad shook his head.
"Now now Maria. I think Ranger is a nice name. It suits him. Have you watched the power Rangers? they are protectors, and I'm sure this little guy is gonna be a protector. Plus it's quite unique. I mean who would name their kid Ranger?" My dad smiled.
My mommy sighed and hung her head, "I need a better husband." She shook her head.
"Ranger it is!" Daddy said, completely ignoring what mommy just said. Mommy had made my little brother to fall asleep again, then she laid him in the cradle.
My hands held the bars as I looked at my little baby brother.
Ranger....my protector.
