After driving for hours, I made a stop at a diner. It's pretty late and everyone looks hungry.

I parked at the parking lot and opened the trunk of my car. Opening the bag my mom gave me, I took out one of the credit cards.

I hope they don't track us with these.

I spotted the picture of the man mom said I should find. What's his name again? Jerome? Johnathan?

I can't remember. I closed the trunk and we all entered the diner. It looked like a normal family diner.

We chose a booth and we all sat on it

We chose a booth and we all sat on it. Everyone is quiet. I guess they're all exhausted. Today was awful for me. And Ronan.... Oh My God, I feel so awful. It's my fault he had to see that but the next question Ranger asked.....

"Where's mommy?"

My heart is beating all weird and my eyes are itchy again. Do I have an infection or something? I've never felt this way before. Odd

"Good evening kids, what will we all be having?" A young waiter asked. He looked about seventeen or eighteen.

Ronan suddenly stood up and walked out of the diner. I sighed.

"Guys order what you want I'll be right back," I said, quickly going in the same direction as Ronan.

I found him sitting on the bumper of my car with his knees to his chest. His.... He's crying.

My heart broke for him. Mom and dad were the only people he ever talked to. Now they're gone...

My eyes became itchy once again.. I started to scratch them but it's not helping. I decided to ignore it and console my little brother.

He was trembling again.

"Ronan," his head snapped up at the sound of my voice. His eyes were bloodshot. My body was flushed against him as he pulled me in for a hug. He continued to sob.

"Shhhh, it's okay. I am here for you. It's okay," he seemed to calm down but he refused to let me go. We stayed like that for a few minutes, I decided to speak when I noticed he had stopped shaking.

"Come on, let's go in and eat". We headed inside to find Rolland and Ranger eating like animals. Ruby looked sad as she tried feeding Raelynn some fries.

I facepalmed myself. She's only a day freaking old. She's still too fragile, I need to take better care of her. I went to the waiter that came to us.

"Excuse me, but do you have warm milk?" I asked.

"Yeah, would you like it in a baby bottle?" He asked.

"Yeah, thanks so much, "I said.

"Anytime gorgeous," he winked at me. I smiled back before heading back to my booth.

"Give her to me," I said taking Raelynn in my arms. A few minutes later, the waiter came back with the milk and baby bottle.

"Thanks so much, "I said

"Where's her mom? she seems a little too young to be away from her mom. And you don't look like the kind of person who can take care of a baby," he laughed, probably thinking what he just said was funny. It wasn't.

A new feeling grew inside me. A feeling that I haven't had in a long time. The last time I felt like this was when I couldn't find my lollipop as a child. But this was stronger than that.

It felt strange to me. It made me ball my hands into fists. I felt my face become red and I started shaking.

Then I realized what these emotions were. They were two powerful emotions that I hardly feel. I have only felt it once, and that was when my dad called me an illiterate.

But the difference is that this.... waiter has no right to judge me or my sister.

I was sad.

I was angry.

"Is your job to ask stupid questions and judge your customers? Or is it to take orders, serve food, and go clean toilets?!"I snapped. Everyone was surprised by my outburst. The people at the next table turned to look at me. Hell, even I was a bit surprised but I was too angry to show it.

I hardly get angry, let alone snap at someone, so my siblings were all shocked.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you I ju..." I cut him off, raising one hand as the other carried Raelynn. I stood up and stared him straight in the eyes.

"You can take your bloody apology and shove it where the sun doesn't shine. We're taking our money elsewhere. Come on guys were leaving," I said gesturing for them to stand up. I hope they've all eaten enough.

But I don't miss the little tiny smile on Ronan's face. That boy is really starting to scare me.

"Seriously I think you're overreacting. I was only asking...." I cut him off again.

"You think I am overreacting! How dare you say that to me! Do you have any idea who I am?!" I yelled at his face.

The other customers all turned their heads to watch the scene I was creating. A bald man in a white apron came over to us.

"What's going on? Louis, what did you do?" He asked, glaring at the waiter who I have come to know his name as Louis.

"Boss, I didn't...."

"Don't even try to lie here, Louis. Sir, I think you should train your employees to mind their own business and not judge their customers, come on guys," I was about to leave the diner when the bald man stepped in front of me.

"Forgive him, madam, he didn't mean to upset you. Please the food will be free. Please don't be angry at us," the bald man pleaded.

"I lost my appetite" I deadpanned and walked out of the diner with the milk in my hand and my siblings trailing behind.

"Ummm.... Roxy?" I heard Ruby say from behind me. I turned around, raising a brow. She pointed at my jeans and I followed her finger.

What I saw immediately made me turn red.

I was on my Fucking period.
