Hey guys! So, this is just a small thing for my fellow JJBA oneshot makers, or people who just wanna make oneshots in general. Now, I know this is pretty random but I have to say, I see it a lot when someone will make a really charming oneshot with a cute idea... but the editing is lazy and the character will be sometimes O.O.C. Also, for those curious, there are italics+underlining in each point just to summarize if you're too lazy to read :p

Here are a few tips for anyone who wants to make oneshots and, much like Rohan, wishes for them to be read!

Editing.

Now, I know it can be a pain editing, I found it very troubling doing it myself, and if you notice, I do make mistakes but they're sorta rare. That's because normally I use Google Docs which can be your best friend when writing these, but if you're using a tablet or phone, Grammarly may help for those. I find it easy to edit a word if I've over used it, or to highlight and look it up in a thesaurus to find richer words. Then, normally as I'd do, just skim through. Just in case the name is messed up or the words are jumbled, or if you made a mistake without noticing.

Reads

If you want to get people to read, then probably expand your horizons and experiment with characters. Example, normally when I take a request, I accept the ones with characters I haven't done yet or don't know much about. An example of this would be the Steel Ball Run oneshots I've been doing recently. I do like Steel Ball Run but I know most of it from Eoh and my friend who loves it. I am actually a bit of a Part 8 Yoshikage Fan, so naturally, you don't see much with him since he is a lesser acknowledged character by the fandom. When I get requests for characters who are also less acknowledged I jump at the chance and research instead of declining. Another example of that would be like Weather Report or the Hot Pants oneshot I did recently. The more variety you have, the more people will want to read for their favorite yet unpopular characters.

Requests

I feel like everyone who I've taken a request from knows that whenever I take a request, I'll also ask for ideas on the story. This helps me when I'm writing so both the 'requester' can be happy with the oneshot and everyone else can see it too. I find it easier to have a prompt on what to do, along with one created by what the requester wants. It is also good to set a limit on how many to ask for at a time. As you all know, I will do 5 at a time, and sometimes slip in my own small things if I want to share.

Again, I know this was very sudden but I just wanted to share a few tips I've picked up from writing over the years. I've had multiple oneshot books in my past and have read plenty. When you write, you don't have to have any excelling skills, just creativity and persistence. Again, I'm not expecting this for everyone of my readers, just my fellow writers and people who want to write. Anyway, laterz until the next oneshot!
