Chapter 38

So today Jc decided he wanted to take me out on a hot air balloon ride.

"So you beautiful couple are going to ride together I assume" the lady said in her western accent while inflating the balloon.

"Oh, we're not a couple" I laughed nervously.

"Yeah" Jc agreed a bit upset.

"Well you guys are so darn cute. I thought y'all were a couple" she stated, as my face grew red and there was a slight smirk on Jc's face. "Well, as a worker here I am required to tell you to keep all arms and legs inside the ride, if it gets too hot pull dis lever right here, and that should be it. Any questions?"

"No. Thank you" Jc replied.

"Alrighty den, well you two love birds can make your way up to the balloon and get ready for the ride" she cheered.
I took a quick glance at the balloon and read what it said 'Fly Away With Me' I didn't even know balloons had words on them.

"Don't be afraid, go on, into the balloon you love birds go" the lady pushed us to the steps. "Aww next thing you know, you two will be gettin' hitched and all that jazz" she said.

"I plan to" Jc smiled, as I looked at him confused.

With me?

Nah.

"Well, goodbye darlings I'll see you later" the lady yelled before releasing the rope.

"Oh my god, oh my god. We're getting lifted, oh my god." I started breathing harder by the second.

"Woah, woah Melissa calm down you're hyperventilating..." Jc held me from behind, as he whispered "You're safe here..." in my ear.

After about 10 minutes of flying wherever the wind decided to take us I noticed something... black little pebbles spelling out something on a mountain.

I read curiously, taking my time knowing the balloon was flying like 1 mile per hour:
'My heart feels PAIN when you're with someone else...
I DROWN in my own thoughts thinking of you...
I chose this ADVENTURE so I could FLY AWAY WITH YOU...'

I stared at it confused at what I had just read, I noticed the words coincidentally bolded, so I turned around and I didn't see Jc...

I had a tiny heart attack as I heard someone clear their throat, so I looked down and saw Jc holding a necklace with a shell on it, much like the one Ariel wears in The Little Mermaid.

"I know this was a bit cheesy, but I can't help it with you... and also I kinda suck at poetry" I lightly giggled "...but I know you like Ariel so here's what I want to say, Melissa will you be my princess?" he smiled.

"What do you mean by that?" I kind of got the hint, but just making sure.
"I'm asking if you'll be my girlfriend" Jc looked nervous now.

"Only on one case..." I smirked.

"Anything" he looked at me with hopeful eyes.

"You be my prince" and with that his smile grew as he put the adorable necklace on me. After my emotional break down I had, we just stood in the balloon in a comfortable silence. "How'd you come up with this?"

"Well, I know you like Disney and I wanted to come up with something no one's done before and something that meant a lot to you" Jc smiled.

"Thank you" I almost cried.

"Don't thank me, thank you for agreeing, you made my day."

My heart felt all fluttery and warm.
