"Melissa... wake up the sun is up and you should be too" I heard a mellow whisper, as I felt someone open my eyelid.

"Leave me alone" I slapped the hand away then shifted my sides.

"There's chocolate downstairs waiting for you" a male's voice was now recognized.

"I'll go later" I muttered.

"There's some Disney merch waiting for you" he tried once more, but I caught on.

"Then it'll be down there when I wake up" I said into my pillow.

"You're favorite bands are down there" he persuaded.

"Nope" was all I said. I guess he gave up because the room was silent.

Until, I felt a pillow be smashed against my face.

"Ok! I'M UP!" I roared at the person who had been bothering me this whole time.

"Damn, good morning to you too" Jc laughed.

"Oh, Jc. Sorry, I just- I'm not a morning person" I confessed as my cheeks went red.

"I can tell" he chuckled once more. "Get up, I made breakfast."

"YOU made breakfast?" I asked in disbelief.

"Wow, thanks for the encouragement. Really appreciate it" he said sarcastically.

"Sorry, I just didn't expect it" I shrugged shyly.

"Well, I made breakfast and I also went ahead of time and picked out your clothes. I got bored." he explained "I didn't pick out your... under clothes, because that's just weird."

"Right... a boy picking out clothes for a girl isn't..." I stated sarcastically.

"Melissa are you placing gender roles on me?" he asked with an eyebrow raised.

"Shut up, I'll get ready. I'll go downstairs when I'm ready" I pushed him out.

"Glad to know you care enough to push me out" he said behind the door.

"You know you my favorite" I cheerfully smiled, locking the door and putting on the clothes Jc had picked out that were placed on my nightstand.

After I got dressed, I headed downstairs. I was greeted with the delicious intoxication of pancakes, sausage, potato, and egg. I swear I was being suffocated with that delightful scent.

I saw my cousin cheerfully sitting near the table waiting for me, I assumed. Jc came out with two plates which I assumed were his and mine.

"Here's yours" he set the plate next to what I assumed was his.

"He insisted on cooking, quite a fellow you got there" Marie winked.

"Thank you... I guess" I laughed.

"Now Jc, we have a tradition of saying what are some few things we are thankful for and what we wish to accomplish today, before taking a bite of breakfast" Marie explained.

Oh yeah, I forgot...

"I'll start" Maria interrupted my thoughts "I'm thankful, Melissa found someone like you, you seem very educated and sweet. I'm thankful for our health. I'm thankful for another day of life and I wish today will be better than yesterday, not only for me, but for everyone else on this planet."

"That's so thoughtful" Jc blurted.

"Do you wanna try?" Marie pursued.

"Um... sure" Jc answered "I'm thankful for my family who has encouraged me to move on. I'm thankful for my life it has made me who I have became today. I'm also thankful for you guys, for I have more to discover about you two beautiful and strong ladies and I hope today will bring us more than expected" Jc finished.

"Alright, I guess I'm next. Well, I'm grateful for life itself. Somehow, it's managed to turn itself around and make me happier than I've ever been. I'm also grateful for you Marie thank you for everything you've done for me. Im thankful for the people I've met for they have either taught me a lesson and/or kept me going. I have high expectations for today" I ended with a smile.

"Now, we eat" Marie got the fork in one hand and knife in other and started digging in.

I bit into the breakfast and I kid you not, best breakfast I have ever tasted. We finished our breakfast and Jc requested a day out and well Marie accepted.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"I wanted to take you somewhere you've always wanted to go" Jc stated as I looked at him in confusion.

It was about a 3 to 4 hours before we actually got there. I saw the sign.

"NO. WAY." my jaw dropped to the floor.

"I know you've always wanted to go to an art museum, but I didn't know which one, so I brought you to an Asian Art Museum, is it close enough?" he nervously asked.

"It's perfect, I can't believe it. How'd you know? It was a nerdy secret of mine the only person I told was-" I cut myself out as I slowly glared "my cousin."

"Don't be mad at her! At least I got to give you something you wanted" he laughed.

"I don't like being spoiled Jc" I whined.

"But you sure like complaining" he joked, as I playfully gasped.

We drove into the parking lot, parked the car, and began our adventure. It's kind of embarrassing that I've been wanting to come to an art museum, but Jc doesn't seem to have a problem with my boring individual.

... and I'm thankful for that.
