'Okay so, this is your microphone and this is your earpiece,' I get handed over the small devices, 'don't ruin this for us.' 'Felix be nice to him! He hasn't done anything wrong.' 'I know Rose,' he answers clearly annoyed.

He turns to face me again.
'I mean it Calum. It took us a long time to track him down again,' he turns back to Rose, 'Why are we putting someone without any experience on his case?'

Well thanks.

'You need to act normally and just look at where he's going.. he knows where the cameras are so he's avoiding those, that's why we need you.' 'How do you know he's going to be there?' I ask carefully.
I receive a chuckle. 'One of our people contacted him to have a cup of coffee.. so we know when he's leaving that café.' I nod.

If this is a such a difficult "villain" how could he possibly fall for such an easy trick?

'

'Okay so he isn't hard to miss, you saw the picture. He'll leave the café in about one to four minutes,' they tell me.

Why not say between now and five minutes? That's so much easier.

I walk down the sidewalk and glance at the café a few times.
I'm nervous.. I shouldn't be, I can't ruin this.

Suddenly I notice a man leaving the café that matches the description and photo I was given.

'Okay.. I see him.'
'Good now follow him.. see where he's going, don't act suspicious.'

So that's what I do for a while until he.. disappears?

Fuck.. I lost him. How could I possibly just lose him! Well here goes my career.

Midway through my thoughts about how to explain this I feel how someone touches my earpiece and moves their hands to the microphone inside of my collar.

'Be honest.. are there more microphones?' They whisper into my ear. I shake my head not sure of what is going on. 'Good.'

I feel how I get dragged into an alleyway and I don't even resist it.. what's wrong with me.

'So.. how's your first day on the job going so far?' He asks with a smirk.
It's him.. it's the guy I was supposed to follow. 'I don't know you, what a..'
He puts his hands over my mouth. 'Okay safe your pathetic excuses, I already saw and turned off your microphones. Don't blame yourself though.. I just know their tricks.'
I sigh as a reply.

'So they're sending a spy after me on their first day? It's like they just want to fail.' 'I'm not a spy,' I mumble.
'Are you calling yourself a hero already.. don't get too cocky already sweetheart,' he responds.
'How do you know it's my first day?' 'You were extremely obnoxious.'
'Well thanks,' I mutter.

'What did they want you to do?' 'Hm?'
'Aren't you supposed to be a good listener? Why did they send you after me?' He repeats. 'They want me to follow you.' 'To where?'
'To the police,' I mumble, 'to where the fuck you're hiding of course!'
'Now.. now.. don't raise your voice, it isn't like you're in the right position for it at the moment.. right?'

'So mister spy.. care to give me your name?' 'Why?' He snickers at my reply. 'If you're going to be on my ass.. I think I have the right to know. Besides you probably know countless things about me and I don't even know your name.' 'Why would I?'
He chuckles quietly.
'There's nothing I can do with your first name sweetheart.'
'Calum.'
'Good.. that wasn't so hard right?'

'And with who am I dealing?'
'How do they call me these days?'
'Jeff.' 'What?'
'Look if I knew I wouldn't ask you,' I respond a bit annoyed.
'The name is Levi, remember that.. you'll be screaming it one day. So now that that's out of the way..'

He pulls me against his body and starts examining my face.

'Okay what are you doing?' I ask when he holds my chin.
'I'm searching for a way to hurt you without them noticing.' 'Excuse you?'
'Oh sweetheart.. I'm not letting you go unscratched.' 'Why would you go for my face then?' I mumble back.

'Yea.. you're right, it's a shame though,' he tightens the grip around my chin, 'I would've loved to ruin that pretty little face of yours.'
'I wouldn't let you,' I mutter.
'No?' He laughs, 'We will see about that later.'

He takes an even closer step towards me and I didn't think that was even possible. I refuse to back up but.. I am feeling uncomfortable.. really uncomfortable.

'Relax sweetheart I'm not going to jump on you.' 'That wasn't my con..' 'Not until you ask me to anyway.'

I just stand there.. freaked out by his words.

'Now then let's show you my house.' 'I'm sorry?'
'They want to know where I went, otherwise they're going to keep setting me up with useless trips to the café, bar and so on. Besides.. I think I like you enough to consider you my enemy and you're not going to be that when they fire you.' 'Uh.. sure?'
'You should thank me Calum.'
I don't respond.

He grabs my wrist. 'Thank me Calum,' he says and tighten his grip. Somehow words still refuse to leave my mouth. 'I'll dislocate your wrist.'
When he starts moving his hand finally the situation I'm in hits me. 'No.. no.. no, that's not necessary.' 'Well what do we need to say?'
'Thank you,' I mutter.
'Next time I want you to speak louder.. otherwise I'll still dislocate your wrist.'
'There won't be a next time.'
'We'll see.'

'

'Are they really going to fall for this?' I ask after taking pictures of him while he was entering a house.
'It's not my job to make it believable.'

'Well guess I'll just go now,' I say and walk away from him.
'Hold on,' he pulls me back, 'I thought I told you I wouldn't let you go unscratched.'

He kicks my shin at a moment I don't expect it.
'Motherf..'
'Now.. now.. I could've done something much worse to you, see you around Calum.'
