It had been a week.. Levi had been hiding at my place for around a week.
I thought everything would be alright.. eventually. Now my dad wanted to see me and somehow I have the idea he knows there's a guy in my house.. he never just wants to see me.
'Coffee, tea?' 'Coffee is fine thanks.'
It's still weird for me to have someone just get things for me, I felt like a celebrity every single time.
'So son I heard you still continued seeing that one guy.' 'I..'
'No Calum,' his voice is strict, 'I assumed you were just trying to search for my extreme limits, but then I got informed about the fact it's a criminal, my son is seeing a criminal.' 'I'm not.'
'Calum don't deny it, I have pictures.'
'Show me.'He opens a drawer and drops an envelope on the coffee table.
I pick it up and pull out the photos.'You're not going to tell me that that isn't you and Levi fecking Parker.'
He knew..
'How?' 'I though you were aware that I'm always keeping an eye on you.'
'But those are made at times it's impossible to..' 'I have a lot of money, I mean look at this place, of course I can get people to stalk you.'I stare at my feet in disbelief.
'You're wondering what I'll do about it this time right?' 'I guess..'
'It depends.. maybe we can associate a bit,' he walks over to me, 'We're looking for your little friend and I'm pretty sure you know where he is.'
'No I don't.' 'You haven't even listened to the deal yet.'He walks over to the window and signs me to follow him.
I take my cup of coffee with me stand next to the almost two heads taller man.'The view is nice isn't it?'
Beautiful mountains were spread out just behind the city below.
'It is nice,' I admit, 'I never noticed it.'
'I can give you the same view, not the exact same, but one just as pretty.
I can give you a mansion, a place full of people to take care of you, a place where you'll never be lonely.
I can provide for you and you won't have to work anymore.'
'I want to achieve things on my own, I don't want an advantage.'
'I know that Calum, but I'm getting older as well, I'll retire eventually and someone will need to take over.'
'Ask mom.'He places his hand on my back.
'You know I want nothing to do with that woman anymore, she was to young when we started this mess.'
My mom was ten years younger, 25 when she got me, making my dad 59 now. That isn't that old yet, but I would understand it if he wanted to quit.
'I won't take over, I would only ruin the company, it's not cut out for me.'
He sighs. 'It's fine.. I'm sure someone will, but my point is no matter what you're in my will and you'll get all my money.'I give him a confused glare.
'But I ruin your perfect little picture.
I ruined your marriage and I'm not accepted by your new wife either.'
'You're still my son and even if you cut me out off your life, I'll give you everything, no one else deserves it. What you do with it is up to you.'
'But Alyssa..' 'She's only after my money.' 'You don't know th..'
'Believe me, I know.'He sits down on the windowsill.
'Calum I can give you family time, maybe even convince your mother to see you and talk to you, I can come and visit you more often. All without cameras. I'll try to be normal and accept you, all you have to do is hand over Levi.'
That's to little to give him up..
'You'll get the chance to life and do whatever you want and I'll just accept everything and cheer you on.
No more spying, no more lessons, just a normal family.'I swallow loudly at the thought of it.. it all sounds to good to be true.. I want it so badly though.
'Sounds nice doesn't it? I'll give you everything you want.. anything you want. All you have to do is hand over your friend.'
'He's more than just a friend.'
'I saw the photos, just think about it Calum, call me when you know what you're going to do. You have a week.'
'And what if I don't hand him over?'
'I'll send you to three different therapist and monitor every step you take, there's no way you're going to walk around unnoticed and free. Everyone you talk to will be looked into and made sure they aren't dangerous.'
'So my freedom will be taken or the one I love?' I murmur.'You don't love him Calum, you just think you do.' 'I'm pretty sure I do.'
'You have a week, but I assume I'll get your answer early. You're not the type of guy to lose all of his freedom for someone who'll need to leave you eventually.''
'You're late again.'
I stare out of the window with the steering wheel clenched between my hands.
Thoughts about what's the best thing to do haunt my mind. The hand on my knee brings me back to the world.
'Darling, what's going on?'
'I'm just thinking about something.. sorry.' 'Hey it's okay, are you tired?'
'Yeah.. why?' 'Because you zone out the most when you're tired.'
'Oh.' 'Should I drive?'I nod so we switch places.
'So long day?' 'I went to my dad.'
'What for? Hello Cal?'My eyes shut open again.
'Sorry sorry sorry, I fell asleep.'
'It's okay don't worry, I'll wake you up once we're home or even carry you in.' 'Why are you this sweet?'
