'Are you sure you want me to do this? Shouldn't we send someone he doesn't know.. what if he recognises me?'
'It's a masked ball, event, party, whatever he likes to call it. The point is.. you'll be wearing a mask, he won't recognise you,' Rose assures me.
'Besides you're the smallest one out of all of us.. we need someone who can easily push through the crowd.'

'And why do I need to go again? What if it's just a normal party?'
'We don't know why he suddenly organised this and there are going to be some familiar faces. I don't trust it, try to listen in on his conversations.'

I nod as I want to get out of the car.

'Oh and Calum?' I stop in my tracks.
'Try to remember the mission for once, I'm getting tired of repeating it over and over again.'

'

Nervously I walk in with a crowd of around ten people. A simple black and gray mask is covering the top of my face and my hair is pulled back.. I hate it, but it's a party.
I'm wearing a grey suit even though I probably should have went for black since that blends in more.

I haven't even been there for five minutes and a cocktail glass is already pressed in my hands. I accepted it though.. I'm not going to pull attention to me by trying to give it back to whomever gave it to me.

I walk around with it for a bit trying to find Levi in the crowd, he's the reason I'm here so.. I should find him.

After a while my eyes fall onto a slightly mascular body combined with the Jade green eyes and brown hair.. it's him. I finally found him.
The problem is.. he's surrounded by a lot of people and there's no way I can get into that circle without being noticed as someone who's doesn't belong there.

I move a bit closer acting like I just need some air and enjoy the drink still inside my hands.

I still can't hear their conversations.
I need to wait for him to move to a smaller group of people.

Which he does.. after like a half hour of chit chat.

I follow him until I lose him in the crowd.. great. I try to find him again but it's hopeless.

'May I have this dance?'

I turn around to meet him.. how did he get here so fast?
I'm shocked but I manage to keep a straight face.

'I haven't had an answer yet.. will you dance with me or not?'

I take his hand as an answer.

He smiles approvingly and leads me to the middle of the room.

I don't talk.. I don't smile.. I keep a straight face, I don't know if he recognised me or not but I'm not screwing it up.

Suddenly he pulls me closer to him.

'Why are you so shy darling?' He whispers. I still keep my mouth shut.
'Calum, I noticed you as soon as you came in.. drop the act.' I sigh.
'You called me darling.' 'I'm aware.'
'You only call me darling when it's not you know.. work,' I mumble.

'There's no work for you here.'
I wrap my arms around his neck.
'And why is that?' I ask.
'Because this is honestly just a party, I would have invited you if you know.. you weren't against me.'
'Explain why there are dangerous people here,' I mumble.

He spins me around which shocks me.
After that he pulls me even closer.

'It are friends Calum.. just friends, do you really think I'm going to make deals with them involving the virus?
If this falls in the wrong hands something seriously bad could happen.' 'Like it isn't in bad hands now,' I mutter. He smirks.
'Wouldn't I've done something with it already then?' I groan.

'But why is it a masked ball.. isn't that a bit.. outdated?' I decide to ask.
'Like you said, there are dangerous people here. Some of them are hiding from the police and others are being chased by even worse people. They wouldn't come if they were extremely recognisable,' he explains.
It does sound.. believable.
'Besides.. you wouldn't have shown up if it wasn't.'

I roll my eyes.

'Won't they start asking questions about me since you've been dancing with me for so long already?'

He chuckles and starts to move slower. His hand moves to my chin and he pushes it up.

I feel his lips on mine. We slowly move with the rhythm of the music our lips still attached.

'Does it look like I care what they think?' He whispers after he pulls away, 'Cal they don't know you.'
'Are you distracting me or is there really nothing going on here?'
'Darling believe me it's just a party, I give one every year.' 'Hm.. alright.'

Suddenly the music changes which ruins our dance. He takes a hold of my hand.

'Come on, you should meet some of my friends.' He starts leading me to a group of people. 'Hold up wh..'
'Don't worry Calum.'

'I was starting to wonder when you would introduce the one you've been dancing with.' Levi laughs softly.
'Meet Calum, Calum meet Drake, Logan, Lindsey, Maggy and Stan.'
All of them raise their hand when their name gets called.
'So this is your catch for tonight?'
'Oh no no Drake,' he lightly squeezes my hand, 'this is serious.'

I try to hide the smile forming on my face.

'How did you guys meet then?'
'Long story,' I answer even though they're more talking with Levi than with me. 'He's one of the S.S.S,' Levi adds blowing my cover.

I slightly hit him for doing so.

'Oh really? And you've persuaded him to join the "Dark" side?' The guy with the glasses asks. 'Not exactly..'
'So you're putting yourself in danger?'
'No Logan, I'm not. Don't believe everything I tell you,' he replies.
'So he's not?' 'Yupp.'

'So what's the deal then?'
'We met in a strange environment.'
'Alright then and you guys are.. dating? A couple?' 'Dating.'

'Anyway where's Joanne?' Levi asks looking around. 'Somewhere.'
'Thanks, we'll just look for her.'

We walk away from them again.

'Levi you could've blow my fucking cover,' I mutter angry. 'You saw their reaction right? They don't care.'
'Still.. it's dangerous to joke with that.'
'Calum I know exactly who'll believe it's a joke. I'm not getting you into problems with others, you're my problem alright and I'm not sharing.'

'Do you really know everyone who's here?' I ask looking around.
'I've met them all, but I know some better than others. The people I just introduced you to are the ones I'm the closest with and Joanne but I don't know where she is.'
'Well.. what does she look like?'
'Really long brown hair and she's taller than you are,' he answers.
'Excuse you?'

'Oh found her!'

He almost drags me over to her.

'Joanne give me your approval.'
I look at him confused.
'Hm so you're suddenly gay now?'
'No.. I don't know,' he replies.

She looks at me from top to bottom making me feel uncomfortable and look down.

'He's alright I guess.'
'Don't be mean Jo.'
'I'm not! Anyway I was about to go home so.. bye.'

'What's up with her?' I ask once she left. 'I don't know.. don't let it bother you. Come on.'

He starts walking away again and I follow him.
