'You look.. bad.'
'Thanks Rose.. appreciate the compliment,' I mumble back.'How did you even get out?'
'He let me go.'
'He just "let you go"? That doesn't sound like him,' Felix mutters.
'He.. put some kind of tracker in my neck.' 'That's why you didn't want to meet at the office.' I nod.
'We will someone take a look at it come on.''
Well.. it got confirmed that I would die if they try to remove it.. so that's great. I can't go anywhere or he will know.
'Any idea why he did this?'
'He wants something from me.'
'And that is?' 'O negative.'
'As in blood?' 'Yes.'
Felix sighs.
'Why does he bother you with it.. why not rob a hospital himself?'
'He wants it from the source,' I mumble, 'I guess he's to lazy to search for someone himself.'
'It's easy.. no one is going to give it to him,' she pauses, 'Will he leave you alone if we find someone?'
'I hope..' 'It's to risky Rose!''Is there someone on our team who has that blood type?' I look away and act like I missed it. 'Calum?' 'Yes?'
'You have that blood type don't you?'
I sigh and mumble a yes.'I don't want to put him into danger again.'
'We let him come to us, since he's tracking Calum, he'll uncover where we are located pretty quickly. So if he comes to us we can pay attention to what he's doing.'
'I don't think he'll do that,' I question.
'Because he's to smart to do that?'
'Yes.. and the fact he needs it from the source.. I don't think he's going to bring his equipment to us.''We should meet him to talk about it.'
'By just waiting until he shows up?'
'I have a phone,' I join in to the conversation, 'a phone I can reach him with.' 'And you just tell us?'
'I.. it just never crossed my mind.'
'It's fine Calum, just bring it to us.'
'I will but.. shouldn't we let him wait for at least a few days? I mean.. we don't want him to think we're that committed,' I state.
'You're right, besides that gives me the time to teach you some more ways to defend yourself and fight back.''But first.. we should let you rest.'
'We'll start tomorrow.' I nod and go home after.'
I look in the mirror. One of my eyes is bruised and same goes for one eyebrows. There's still a bit of dried up blood underneath my nose and chin.
I decide to take a shower, make dinner and just go to bed.
I notice some bruises on my shoulders but that's about it.. I came out of that fight surprisingly.. good.
I was just emotionally drained.'
'Here's the phone,' I hand it over to Felix, 'Will I get it back one day?'
'Probably not, I don't understand why you would want it back in the first place,' he responds.
'He just scares me that's all.'
'You should've been put on an easier case,' he sighs, 'no offense.'You suck.. no offense, thanks Felix.
'This wasn't my choice, it's my dad's.'
'And we're just going to deal with it.'
'If I knew Levi was such an asshole I would've fled the country just to get away from this,' I mumble. 'Levi?'
'That's how he calls himself.' 'Alright.'The day ends quickly after that. Someone is trying to get a location out of the phone and Felix exhausts me by training all day.
Quick summary: I'm exhausted.
'
'Okay Calum.. we need you to call him. We don't want him to know that we know.. about the phone.'
'What a nice sentence Rose,' Felix mumbles.
'Don't start acting like this to me as well!''Guys!' Their heads turn my way. 'What?' 'Maybe you shouldn't argue and just let me call the prick?'
'Try to not let him crush your confidence, you need it.'
'I know, that's why I want to get to the point quickly and let him hang up on me.' Rose gives me a confused glare. 'He doesn't like it when someone hangs up on him.. I learned that the hard way.'We practice the call over and over again. I need to stop being easily distracted.. being easily persuaded.. being easily manipulated.
I take a deep breath and finally let the phone ring.
It takes a little while before he answers.
'Did you miss me already?'
'Okay listen up. We got someone for you an..' 'Are you reading aloud?'
'And we want to know where you want them to be.'
'It's cute you wrote down what you wanted to say sweetheart.'The tone in his voice makes me want to scream at the phone for some reason.
'Levi where do you want them to be?' I repeat. 'It seems like I need to keep explaining to you what will happen if you try to rush me.'
'Fine if you don't want the donor I'm just going to go.''Calum.' 'Levi.' 'Calum.' 'Le.. I'm not in the mood for this, tell me where yo..'
'Want the donor. I will send you a location and a time,' he responds.
'H..how many of us can go with them?' 'Just you,' he says with a seductive tone. 'That's a problem.'
'Because you're going to be the lucky one right? Calum you're going to be alone. It's either you and the donor or just you.'I swallow quietly as my word slowly starts spinning.
'B..but you need to understand that that isn't safe.'
'Calum relax, I won't kill you or keep your captive.'
'I want someone else to come with me, otherwise there won't be a deal.''It's cute how you're listening to the people you work with, but it won't get you far in this world. See you Calum.'
