My eyes shift around with every sound I hear.
I'm in his house.. again, the last time I needed Rose to get me out of here.
'You seem uncomfortable,'
I feel the surface underneath me sink in a bit, 'What's wrong?'
'What isn't going wrong at the moment?' I hiss back.He carefully puts his hand on my shoulder like I'm made out of porcelain and will break.
I don't flinch.. I don't move away.. I don't even throw him off me. I don't do anything.. man he must love having this kind of power over me.
He squeezes my shoulder lightly before pulling back and standing up.
'Let's get you something to eat.'
'Levi I.. really don't want to.'
'You were serious about that? It thought you were just being difficult over the phone,' he replies. To make matters worse my stomach starts rumbling.
'Are you sure? What about just a pack of instant noodles?'
'If that makes you happy,' I mumble.
'Sure be right back.'I throw my head back in the cushion of the couch and stare at the ceiling.
'What happened to the ceiling?' I question without realising I do.
'The spots?' 'Yea.' 'Christmas lights.'
'Whit?' I ask since I can't understand how that would work.
'One stop talking like that and two.. I tried to put them up with pieces of tape but it didn't really work out.'
'Why? Does it upset ye?' I reply. He puts a bowl down in front of me.
'It makes me want to smash my lips onto yours.. alright!' He snarls.
'I don't really have a problem with that..' I mumble. 'You should.'
'Why?'He sighs and sits down next to me again.
'Because we need to fight against each other.. not.. kiss each other.' His voice sounds weird to me it's.. thick?
'Levi.. are you alright?'
'Just eat your noodles.'I decide not to make too much of a fuss about it. This guy is dangerous.. he might act sweet but he's still the same person who held a knife to my throat today.
I sit down on the floor before the table.. to scared to spill it.
As I take the spoon my hand starts trembling.. a thought just hit me.'Would you have saved me?'
'What do you mean?' He replies.
'If the roles where switched and you had me captured.. would you came back for me?' I ask quietly.
'I think Gray would've.'
'But.. would you have?' I repeat while I scan his face for a reaction. He runs his hand through his hair.
'I don't know Calum.. I don't know,' he sighs, 'you don't have value to our mission.'
'Then why didn't you just let me fall out of that window?' I mumble.I feel his hands on my shoulders.
He pulls me against his legs as he massages them lightly.'Let it go Calum.. you've had a rough enough day already.. rest.'
'But who says you won't attack me?'
'I won't,' he sighs, 'I won't okay.. I'm tired as well.'
'But if your tired.. why look after me? Why make sure I eat?'
'Because you won't look after yourself,' he mumbles. 'Who says?'
'Grayson.' 'Right.''How exactly did you guys break up? Gray was vague about it.'
'Wait you know we.. he.. t.. he told you?'
'By accident.' I shake my head.
'Gray said that the incident with your mother changed you and you started putting the blame on to him.'
'That's.. half true,' I whisper. The room goes quiet.. well we're both quiet so that makes the whole room quiet.
'Your dad,' he starts.
'What about him?'
'He played part in it as well.. right?'
'I.. I don't want to discuss that with you,' I respond.
'Alright,' he lightly taps my shoulders before getting up, 'eat your noodles.''Where are you going?'
'My presence doesn't seem to help you eat so I'll just do something else.'He's about to leave the room when I stop him.
'Levi?' 'Yes?'
'Thank you.'He smiles and gives me a nod before leaving the room.
I lift the spoon to my mouth again.
He expects me to eat so.. I should do that.. this guy is crazy, he will probably kick my ass if I still refused.I never thought instant noodles could taste this.. amazing. The bowl is empty within minutes.
'Not hungry huh?'
I turn my head to the doorway.
'I thought you left?'
'I had, but I found out I've nothing to do,' he explains scratching the back of his head.I stand up I figure I can leave now..
'Gee Calum.' 'Hm?'
He makes his way over to me.
'You bled through your shirt.'
All that my mouth can seem to let pass is a quiet 'Oh.'
'Dammit Calum,' he murmurs, 'Let me look.'I sigh as I try to lift my shirt but it's stuck to my body, well.. my wound.
Annoyed I want to just rip it off but a hand stops me.'Are you really that selfless?'
He doesn't wait for me to respond and slowly lifts my shirt.
'Hold it there.'
'Let me change those bandages.. be right back.'
'But won't you need the resources yourself?' I ask.
He shakes his head, 'I have more than enough.''
'There you go.'
'Y.. You really didn't have to do that,' I whisper still a bit flabbergasted about the whole situation.I feel his hand on my cheek.
'I know, but neither you or your colleagues would've done it for you.'
It's like he suddenly noticed where his hand is when he removes it from my face rather quickly.
I didn't mind his hand being there.
I didn't mind his hands all over my torso when he changed the bandages.
I didn't mind his hands on me at all.
What am I even saying?
He's the enemy.
He's the enemy..
He's the enemy...
He's the ene....
Is he?
