Jacob's hot self ^^^

Jacob POV

"I love you brother." I heard Julian say when he called me, I didn't know what the hell to think, I knew to expect this call one day but I didn't think it was going to be so soon. Julian and I have known each other since we joined the Marines six years ago. He joined after his parents died, he wanted to do some good and he graduated high school early and he joined the service. When we met, I knew he was someone special, that he would go far in his career and he did, he is one of the highest-ranking officers our age, he has been on a climb to the top for a couple of years and then it all went to shit when he got shot, covering my dumb ass when I ran to protect him but he ended up protecting me and got shot three times because of it. I feel like I let him down in the worst way possible even if he said it's not my fault.

After I didn't get an answer when I called him back, I ran out of my house half-dressed and ran to my captain's house a few houses down, we live on base so we're all close to one another. I reached his doorstep and rang his doorbell repeatedly until his teenage son answered.

"I need… to talk.. to the captain." I said out of breath. " He nodded letting me in.

"He's in the office." I took two steps at a time knocking on the door and waited for his reply.

After hearing him say 'enter' I walked in and asked for emergency leave, explaining why I needed to leave.

"Granted, I hope all is well." I nod saying thank you and leave to my house and start packing. Dad told me a while ago I had a great uncle out in Oregon in the town Julian moved to, I found it strange but I left it be.

Hours later packing my essentials and personal items I grabbed my things and driving to the airport. When I got the news about Julian I called dad having a mental breakdown and he said he had a house an hour away from the hospital which was ironically convenient.

Twenty hours and some minutes later I was exhausted but I was determined to see Julian so I called a car service and went to the hospital. This may be the wrong time to make jokes but Julian owes me a year's supply of coffee.

After getting out of the car and thanking the driver I ran to the information desk and ran to the elevator going to the floor Julian was on and as I walked down the hall I was hit with several supernaturals' scents.

Ignoring them I ran into Julian's room and as I opened the door three men stood growling at me guarding Julian's bed.

"I'm not a threat, I'm friends with Julian, we were deployed together."  I said and they stopped growling but watched me carefully.

I sighed and sat in an empty chair and looked at the men waiting for them to say something or waiting for a doctor to come in to break the awkward tension.

As if the goddesses we're reading my mind, a doctor came in and he smelled familiar, like dad, could he be one of my relatives? Nah…

"We got the last results back, his brain functions have not shown any improvement, the blood tests are back to normal, that's about all I can tell you, I'm sorry." The doctor said and walked out leaving without another word. If only I looked at my phone sooner but I left my phone at home while on guard duty. I should have been there for him. He asked me to assist in his suicide when he got shot but I couldn't go through with it.

"This is bullshit!" One of the men shouted on the verge of breaking down.

"It is." One of the other men said.

"Since no one has asked yet, who are you, and why are you just getting here?" A guy asked, looking similar to grandpa.

"I'm Jacob O'Brian…" He looked at me and sighed knowing what he'll ask next.
