A Day For Our King

Kaiden POV

My mates and I really screwed up this time, like big, big time. My life mission is to set things right and today is all about Julian. No more selfishness, He’s our armored king and will be treated as such from here on out. 

“We’re back..” Zander whispered and I turned to face the front door.

“Did you boys get your hormone suppressants?” I asked like a parent making sure they did as I ask 

“Yes, dad…” Zeke sassed and I swatted his butt with a kitchen towel. 

“No sass mouthin’.” I warned.

“Is he still sleeping?” Seth asked, walking into the kitchen. 

“Yes now go relax while I finish making breakfast. We have years of ass-kissing to do and I’m not stopping to chitchat. This is long overdue and I want to make sure Julian leaves here feeling like a king. He was there for all of us and we have yet to prove to him that we love and appreciate him. We may not understand why he chose this path but I guess it’s not up to us to understand but to support and if I die tomorrow I want that man leaving here saying ‘we may have had a rocky past but my mates came through for me when I needed them most, I just hope my damn cooking doesn’t kill him first.” I said out of breath making an omelet with honey glazed bacon and buttermilk biscuits. 

“Zander go and keep him distracted and do some ass-kissing, I don’t care if it’s literal.” He saluted and left. 

“What can we do?” Seth asked and I handed them silverware and dishes to set the table. 

“What more do you have planned other than breakfast?” I smirked and I smiled to myself. 

“Living the Marine boot camp life for twenty-four hours. I figured since we’ve caused Julian so much grief, I figured he can get a kick out of us living like he had when he was in boot camp. We’re also going to the shooting range and doing whatever else Julian wants and the day before he leaves we’re having a big party to celebrate.” He looked at me like I was crazy but I want to show Julian that we’re in this and we support him even though it took this long to get here. 

“Don’t give me that look, we owe him more than the damn planet and we can’t do that so we’re doing what we can from this point forward and being a model family for our kids, you get me?” I smiled sadistically. 

“Yup, Understood.” He scurried off to set the table and I brought the food when it was all done. 

“You can set him free now.” I mind linked Zander and I saw them walk down the steps adjusting themselves. Morning sex and makeup sex is hot. 

“Morning, everyone.” Julian said and he looked dead and defeated. Don’t worry baby I know we’ve been shitty and it ends here and now. A brand new start we all kissed him and sat after him and when he’s served. 

We all say morning and look at him waiting for him to yell at us like he did so many years ago when we had our last big fight but he just kept eating, 

“What are you guys doing today?” He asked us as if he’s no longer our mate. 

“We, including you, are doing twenty-four hours of marine boot camp living and whatever you want to do. We’ve been shitty mates, more so than in the past and we’re going to try our hardest to be better. We want to be better because before you leave here we have something for you.”

“W-what?” He asked in disbelief and almost choking on his biscuits.

“We may not understand why you chose this life or it chose you but we want to be better for you. Last night I was out of line for raising my hand to you. When you said what you did, my hormones spiked and I snapped and I know you may not forgive me today but I love you Julian even if it may not feel like I do but I couldn’t imagine my life without you or the others sitting here at this table.” Zeke said and I was glad to feel the sincerity, it was genuine and heartfelt.
