Early morning, Akshat and Vikram are talking in the guest-room. Guddan overhears their conversation while passing by.

Vikram - Humein yeh dekhkar badi prasannata hui ki aap aage badh rahe hain apne jeevan mein.

Akshat (angrily) - Sab log kyun mere piche pade hue hain. Kal Guddan, aaj tum. Mujhe kahin aage nahin badhna, mujhe kuch nahin badalna apni zindagi mein. Main jahan hun, thik hun.

Vikram - Parantu aap aage badh toh chuke hain na Guddanji se vivah kar ke?

Akshat (clenching his fist, turning away) - Han par sirf Antara chahti thi isiliye! Yeh shadi bas naam ki hai, aur kuch nahi.

Guddan had tear-filled eyes, as soon as she heard this. He still felt that their marriage was a namesake one, a fact that she had forgotten long ago. She felt a strange feeling of unease, a sense of suffocation. How could he say that, when he himself had stood behind her, supported her so many times. Did she really mean nothing to him? She rushed upstairs to her room, before anyone noticed her tears.

Vikram (putting his hand on Akshat's shoulder) - Parantu yeh toh Guddanji ke saath anyay hai Akshat.

Akshat (turning back, calming down) - Jaanta hun, par main kya karun Vikram. Yeh sab Antara ki zidd ka nateeja hai. Woh jaanti thi ki main usse manaa nahi kar sakata, isiliye ussne............(pauses) Uske zidd ke chalte main jitna kar paya, maine kiya. Aur kuch nahi kar sakta main. Bas. Kuch nahin sunna mujhe. (and he leaves)

Vikram - Aap Antara ko samajh hi nahi paaye. Woh kabhi aapke liye aisa adhoora rishta nahi chahti thhi. Woh chahti thhi, ki aap poore mann se apne jeevan mein aage badhein.

On the other hand, Guddan has run upstairs to her room. She tries to rearrange the cupboard, to take her mind off what she just heard from Akshat. A piece of cloth fell down on the floor. As she went to pick it up, she saw two yellow handprints on it, one a little larger than the other. She smiled as she looked at Akshat's and Antara's name written below each of the prints. Her smile faded as she recognised the smeared yellow mark at the corner of the cloth. She remembered her haldi ceremony, how her foot had slipped due to the water on the floor, how she tried to grab Akahat's kurta to hold on to and accidentally pulled out Akshat's handkercheif and hence the smeared mark. A tear rolled down her cheek.

Guddan - Hamari jagah apki zindagi mein iss kapde par lage iss chote se dhabbe ki tarah hi hai na Jindal Saab, anchaha aur bemana. (putting the cloth back in the cupboard, wiping her tear) Par humein itna farak kyun padd raha hai? Humne kaunsa unhe apna pati maankar unse shaadi ki thhi? Hum itna kyun soch rahe hain? Dimaag hi phat jayega yeh sab sochte rahe toh.

She quickly recollects herself and decides to go to her home to talk to Kaushalya about Revati's future plans. That way, she won't have to think about all this - Akshat and their relationship.

Guddan - Papa. Kal Sankranti hai na. Ghar mein Puja ka saamaan toh hai hi nahin. Ab isse pehle ki Mummy chilllana shuru kar de. Aap jaldi jaake le aao. (winking at Revati) Chhutki, tu bhi jaa na, Papa ke saath.

Revati (worriedly) - Par Di.........

Guddan (pushing Revati) - Jaa na..........

Revati (half-heartedly) - Thik hai Di.

Guddan (smiling) - Jaldi jaiye Papa. Aur sirf Sankranti ka hi kyun, aaj poore mahine ka saaman leke aayega. Aur Mummy aapko suna bhi nahin payegi.

Bhushan (smiling) - Haan beta. Aaj tumhari Mummy ko ek mauka nahin dunga kuch bhi sunane ka. (and they leave)
