Chapter 50 - The Jealous Spouse Part 2

As Saahil and Guddan are walking towards the gate, Reshma is ready with the next phase of the plan. Reshma and her friends are standing near the gate, giggling about something.

Saahil (joining the group, pretending to know nothing) - Kya baat hai bhai, kis baat pe itna hans rahe ho sab. Humein bhi toh batao koi.

Reshma (knowingly making a flustered face) - Kuch nahin!

Guddan - Aare bataa na, humse kya chhupana.

Reshma - Aare such mein kuch nahi....... (and she giggles looking at her friends, who are also smiling)

Saahil coughs knowingly and Reshma understands.

Reshma - Woh actually.......... (pointing towards Akshat, who is standing at a distance) Hum sab yahi baat kar rahe thhe ki.......... ki Jiju kitne handsome lag rahe hain iss sherwani mein. Dekh zara. (turns to Guddan) Toone pehle se haat saaf kar liya, warna main hi apna chance try kar leti........

Guddan gives her a stern look, much to Saahil's amusement.

Reshma (teasingly pushing Guddan) - Waisa bata toh sahi, itne handsome Jijaji tere palle kaise pad gaye? Matlab kuch toh jaado chalaya hoga toone. Haan?

Guddan looks on, irritated. Why, all of a sudden, everyone was interested in "her Jindal Saab". Don't they have anything else to do?

Reshma (adding fuel to fire) - Acha ek baat bataa. Jiju ka koi bhai nahin hai kya? Meri bhi setting karaa deti.

Guddan (annoyed look) - Chup kar. Aur zyada ghurne ki zaroorat nahi hai. Humaare pati hain, hum hi dekhenge........... (and she bites her tongue, realising she actually said it out loud)

Reshma (controlling her laughter) - Toh finally, dil ki baat zubaan pe aa hi gayi. Possessive haan?

Guddan - Kya possesive? Aisa............. aisa kuch nahi hai........ Kuch bhi..........

Guddan halts midway as she notices that Akshat is talking to someone, that too openly and casually - something that is opposite to his nature. Guddan tries to get a good look of that person but couldn't from where she was standing.

Guddan (pulling Reshma's hand, without taking her eyes off Akshat) - Woh kaun hai?

Reshma (pretending to be innocent) - Kaun?

Guddan - Aare woh dekh na, saamne......... Jindal Saab ke saath........

Reshma (winking at Saahil) - Hogi koi, kya pata?

Saahil (pretending to know nothing) - Acha woh? Aare woh toh Aditi hai, Preeti ki cousin ki cousin. US return hai........ Preeti bata toh rahi thi ki sidha Mehendi pe aayegi.......... Hai na Reshma.

Reshma - Aare haan haan yaad aaya. Aditi Singhania hai iska naam........ Aur kya English bolti hai yaar, angrez bhi sharma jaaen.

Guddan (murmuring to herself, still not taking her eyes off Akshat for a second) - Humaare saath toh kabhi itna has has ke baat nahi karte!

Saahil (enacting a serious face, trying to control his laughter, whispering into Guddan's ear) - Ab tujhse toh tere Jindal Saab ko pyaar hone se raha, toh issi ke saath chakkar chalwa lete hain. Kyun? Achi hai na dono ki jodi?

As expected, Guddan staring at him angrily.

Saahil (adjusting his words, slow voice) - Matlab........ Toone hi kaha thha na, ki tere akdoo ko tujhse pyaar nahi ho sakta........... Bas.......... Isiliye keh raha thha.......... Aur tu bura mat maan.......... Shaadi ka ghar hai, itne saare mehmaan hain. Tere liye bhi koi na koi dhund hi le...........
