Chapter 49 - The Jealous Spouse - Part 1

After sometime, in the same afternoon, Saahil approaches Guddan in the garden.

Guddan (stepping back on seeing Saahil, angrily) - Saahil! Ja yahan se. Humein tujhse koi baat hi nahin karni............ Galti ho gayi ho bharosa kiya tujhpe............

Saahil (pleading tone) - Please ek baar meri baat sun le.......... Please...........

Guddan (stern voice) - Nahin, jo toone kiya hai na uske baat bacha hi nahi hai kuch........... (worriedly) Aur iske pehle ki Jindal Saab tujhe yahan dekh len, please chala jaa yahan se.............

Saahil - Tu pehle na decide kar le, ki baat kyun nahin karegi mujhse. Tu gussa hai isiliye ya tujhe darr hai ki tere khadoos pati ko gussa aa jayega mujhe tere saath dekh ke, isiliye?

Guddan - Jo bhi wajah ho, tujhe kyun bataen? Bataya doston ko jaata hai, aur toone jo kiya uske baad.........

Guddan was nervously looking here and there, in anticipation of Akshat arriving any moment.

Guddan (softer voice) - Please ab jaa yahan se........ Samajh baat ko......... Please jaa......

Saahil (teasing tone) - Mujhe aisa kyun lag raha hai ki iss waqt tu gussa kam aur dari hui zyada hai..........

Guddan (adamantly) - Koi darre warre nahin hain hum...... Bas hum Jindal Saab ko aur pareshan nahin karna chahte........... Teri wajah se bahut pareshan ho chuke hain woh..........

Saahil - Acha! Woh pareshan hai? Aur main? (caressing his cheek) Yeh gaal dekh rahi hai, abhi tak nishaan pade hain isspe, kya zor ka maara tere akdoo pati ne. Ohhhhhh............

Guddan (angrily) - Haan, pitna hi thha tujhe toh! Kaam toh pitne wala hi kiya thha na toone.

Saahil - Dekha, dekha, phir se uski tarafdaari. Lattu hai uspe tu ekdum.

Guddan (irritated) - Bas kar Saahil! Please jaa........

Saahil (teasing tone) - Kyun bas karun, jo sach hai wahi toh bol raha hun........... (loudly) Lattu, ekdum lattu.......... Ek number ki lattu........

His words died midway as he shrieked in pain when Guddan twisted his ear.

Guddan (stern voice) - Ab bol ke dikha.........

Saahil (crying out in pain) - Aaaahhhh........... Maaf kar de meri maa.......... Aur nahin bolunga......... Maaf karde, sorry...........

And as Guddan released his ear from her hold, Saahil again started making fun of her, running away. Guddan runs after him.

Unbeknownst to Guddan, Akshat was nearby - close enough to see them but not close enough to clearly hear their conversation.

But Saahil was well aware of Akshat's presence nearby. After all, he had made sure that he and Guddan would be seen by Akshat. It was crucial to the plan he just made with Reshma, mere hours ago.

As Akshat furiously takes the first step towards Saahil and Guddan, Reshma's voice stops him in his tracks.

Reshma (pretending to be ignorant of the situation) - Aare Jiju, aap yahan hain. Kahan kahan dhundha aapko. Gaurav bhaiya dhundh rahe hain aapko. Aur Guddan kahan hai? Dikhi nahi kabse!

Akshat looks here and there, trying to tone down his anger. And Reshma acted as if she just spotted Saahil and Guddan running hither and thither, just some distance ahead of them.

Reshma (pointing towards Saahil and Guddan) - Acha wahan hain Madam! Yeh dono bhi na. Kaise bachhon ki tarah bhaaga daudi kar rahe hain! Nahi badalne waale yeh log. Aapko pata hai college mein bhi yeh dono aise hi thhe. Aur laga hi thha mujhe, yeh dono zyada der tak ek dusre se dur reh hi nahin sakte. Chal acha hua, dono ne sulah kar li.
