Chapter 9- Girls Night

"Chinese food or pizza?" Caroline asks as we all hang out in the kitchen and by all I mean Bonnie, Care, Elena, and myself. I cleared everything up with Tyler and told him Bonnie put a protection spell on me. We mainly hung out all day him telling me that I better not die.

"Like you have to ask," I respond chuckling along with Elena.

" I will get it," Caroline says as she opens her phone. Bonnie leans over and sees it's a picture of Caroline and Matt together.

"I got it," Bonnie says taking the phone.

"Do you believe that Joans is being sincere?" Lena questions.

"I don't know what to believe." Care responds as I nod my head.

"I think he's at a loss. He's not sure who to trust." Bonnie adds.

"Join the club," Elena replies.

"Well, what are we going to do about this movie situation?" Care asks.

"What about 'The Notebook'?" I question as Caroline nods her head in agreement.

"Grace, how many times have you seen that movie? You too, Caroline?" Lena questions.

"That is not the point. It's a great movie and you cannot disagree." I respond defending mine and Care's favorite movie.

"Well, yeah, I mean...hey," Elena says as Jenna walks in.

"What's going on?" She asks.

"Girls night. How are you doing?" Lena asks.

"You heard about my fight with Ric," Jenna states as she looks at us.

"He feels terrible," I say trying to lighten the mood.

"Is this some kind of disguised attempt to cheer me up?" Jenna asks suspiciously.

"No. No, this is about us Girls Hanging out. And, you know, we'll be here if you happen to want to talk, or..." Lena trails off.

"Because I am a winner when it comes to successful relationships." Caroline states.

"You, too?" Jenna asks.

"You have no idea," Care says.

"I wouldn't have an idea. Still haven't been in a relationship. I'm dating myself and we're perfect together." I say pointing out my love life that is nonexistent. Everyone laughs at that.

"Ok, then. It's this whole Isobel thing. He's hiding something from me." Jenna vents.

"To play devil's advocate, maybe there is a great reason why he's not telling you. Maybe he is just trying to protect you." I try.

"Well, that's not his call to make. I mean I deserve the truth. Everybody does." Jenna counters.

"Sometimes it's harder than that," Caroline adds on.

"Not if it's somebody you care about, it isn't," Jenna concludes.

"You know what we need? Dancing. There is a band at the Grille." I suggest.

"I'm in." Bonnie agrees along with Caroline, Jenna, and Elena.

At the Grille the band is singing. We all go in walking through the crowd.

"I need a drink." Jenna states after seeing Ric. Matt walks by and Care says hi. He just ignores her.

"Things just got real awkward," Bonnie says. I walk away and head to the bar and get a couple of drinks. After I'm a little tipsy I walk back to the rest of my friends.

"He said the balls in your court," Bonnie says

"Yeah, but I can't do anything about it."Care answers.

"Why not? All you do is talk about how much you care about him." I explain.

"Yeah, but I am still keeping so many secrets," Caroline replies.

"Alaric's in the same boat with Jenna. And maybe that's our mistake. We're trying to protect the people that we love by keeping them out of it, but in the end, we're hurting them anyway." Elena informs us. As she finishes the band ends and the crowd applauds. Caroline looks at me and takes off her Jacket and starts pulling me with her.

"What are you doing?" Elena asks as Caroling continues to pull me up on stage along with her.

"Hey, everybody. Let's hear it for the band! Weren't they awesome?" Caroline says into the mic. Then a guy comes and tries to take it away. "So there's this guy. And, uh, he told me to tell him how I feel about him. Like it's so easy." Care chuckles nervously. "Um, you know just cause I talk a lot doesn't mean I always know what I'm actually talking about. Ah, like now, I'm feeling loopy and I don't know how to express myself." The guy tries again to take the mic away from care. "We can sing! Yeah! yeah. You know what I'm going to sing and force my best friend to sing with me." At that point, I try to escape by Care grabs my arm

"Come, get off the stage." The man says.

"You are going to let me live out my rock star fantasies along with my best friend, and she going to be my back-up." Caroline compels.

"What will it be?" He asks handing me the Mic. Caroline whispers to us and he tells. Then we both start to sing Eternal Flame by the Bangles.  Through the whole song Care is looking at Matt. Then I smell something. An amazing sent washes over my senses and stop. Soon Matt comes up on stage and Kisses Caroline. I just stand there and hop down. Where that smell coming from.

Jonas is here and he's after me and Elena. Bonnie got knocked out. Stefan got me and Elena out and I don't know about Matt and Care. Katherine killed Jonas and Isobel came back.
