Chapter 11- The Last Day

I walk to the front door and shift back no caring about me not being clothed.

"Tonight is a full moon. We should assume that Klaus is prepared to break the curse." I hear Elijah say. I walk into the house everyone turning towards me. I quickly grab a blanket nearby and wrap it around myself.

"Grace where were you we were so worried?" Stefan asks me.

"I just- I just needed to get away," I replied sitting down still in a blanket.

"Elena said that the sun and the moon curse is fake? That it's actually just a curse placed on Klaus." Stefan says.

"Klaus is a vampire born of a werewolf bloodline. The curse has kept his werewolf aspect from manifesting. But if he breaks it...He'll be a true hybrid." Elijah explains.

"Does that mean I'm the original hybrid assuming that there hasn't been none of my kind before? Oh and I just want to say I said this from day one! You all called me crazy." I pout.

"He turned once before his curse was placed upon him" Elijah answers. Causing my hope to deflate just a little. "Although according to my knowledge you are the first of your kind.'

"Then why are we letting him break the curse? We can kill him today. With Bonnie and Grace... And we didn't call you crazy Little Bird, we just...didn't necessarily believe you."

"Damon..." Stefan trails off.

"No. Bonnie can't use that much power without dying and we still don't know why Klaus wants Grace, plus I don't want her to die either." Elena counters.

"I'll write her a great eulogy, and you do have a point with Gracie-so Grace." He turns to me. "You're not going to kill him."

"It's not an option Damon. I already brought her back by linking my life with hers for a bit and that was risky because she almost channeled me to death." I explain looking at him pointedly. 

"All right, how do we break the curse?" Stefan asks.

"Well, the ritual itself is relatively straight forward. The ingredients, so to speak, you already know." Elijah says.

"The moonstone." Stefan states.

"A witch will channel the power of the full moon to release the spell that's bound within the stone. After that, Klaus, being both werewolf and vampire, will sacrifice one of each." Elijah explains.

"And where do I fit into it?" Elena asks.

"The final part of the ritual. Klaus must drink the blood of the doppelganger...to the point of your death." 

Damon and I look at Elena's worry written on our faces. Stefan grabs her hand as Elena looked at him.

"And that's where you come in."  She says as Elijah opens a box.

"This is an elixir that I acquired some 500 years ago for Katherina. It possesses mystical properties of resuscitation." He tells us.

"So I'll be dead?" She inquires.

"And then you won't," Elijah says bluntly.

"That's your plan? A magical with potion with no expiration date? You want to come back to life, what about Jhon's ring?" Damon asks annoyed.

"Those rings only work on humans. The doppelganger is a supernatural occurrence." I explain while sighing. 

"Odds, are the ring won't work," Elijah states bluntly.

"I'll take those odds over your elixir. What if it doesn't work, Elana?" Damon asks pissed.

"Then I guess I'll just be dead." Damon looked over to Stefan who just shrugged. He then looked at Elijah then to me. I winked showing him I had a plan. I slightly nodded and stormed off.
