I wake up my body practically flush against Klaus's. I groan a little and roll over to check the time. 7:10. that's pretty early. I should probably head to school considering school started in September and it's currently November, 12. Yay, I can officially have my first day of school, that's if something doesn't go wrong. And just like clock work my phone begins, it's insistent blaring singling a phone call.
"Hello?" I ask groggily into the phone, still not completely awake. I look over and see Klaus still sleeping. His skin illuminated by the light. I swiftly sneak out of the room to not disturb the sleeping hybrid. We've both had a tough day-no week. I was able to convince Klaus to stop worrying about his hybrids so that's a plus.
"Ah, so you aren't dead Little bird?" Damon's voice rings into the phone. "Well, again."
"Haha. I get it I'm kinda reckless. But is there any reason as to why you are calling me so absurdly early in the morning, or do you just like to screw with me." I asked still trying to overcome my crankiness of sleep.
"Kinda reckless. Little bird, this is the second time you died without any supernatural protection. If anything I would bet the spirits are getting tired at saving your ass." He ignores my statement.
"If you're not calling for a good reason I am going to hang up on you and go sleep for a little more before I finally go to school."
"Wow, school? That's new. But anyway Elena came back this morning from her little rendezvous." He explains.
"Well, yes, Evil Spawn. I need to attend school. Remember that thing I haven't gone to because of every supernatural thing ever happening causing me to skip. I'd be lucky if I actually graduate." I point out.
"I'm sure I could just compel them to give you your diploma. You wouldn't really need it anyway. You should just drop out and go all-in with the supernatural activity in this town." Damon says getting off track.
"I know I'm intelligent but I would still like to remain somewhat normal."
"Ha! 'Normal'. Sorry, Little Bird, but you're anything but 'normal'. You're a hybrid wolf-witch, who is mated to an original vampire." He points out.
"Ok, this conversation is getting off track. Continue with the explanation with Elena." I command as I wander down towards the kitchen and start making a small breakfast for me and Klaus.
"She can't keep down animal blood." He informs.
"Wait, why? What does that mean?" I ask completely complexed.
"I don't know, but if she can't keep down animal blood then she'll have to feed from a human." H explains.
"Damon..." I trail off knowing that she didn't want to hurt anyone. It didn't make any sense though. A vampire should always be able to keep down blood unless they were compelled not to.
"I can help her. I'll teach her control." He assures me.
"Why do you think she can't keep it down? I mean surely that's not normal." I ask.
"My guess is because she has some weird doppelganger blood. Anyway, I'll keep you updated Little Bird."
"Yeah, sure. I'll try having a normal day, but if anything I'm just a call away." I say as I hang up. I lean against the countertop and start pouring the pancake mix onto the pan. I make a small batch for me and then prick my finger and ix it with the rest of the batter for Klaus.
I strain my ears and hear a steady heartbeat and even breaths. Of course, he's still asleep. I move to the kitchen island and place my plate on it pulling out my phone to call Rebekah.
