It was still daytime and I was staring forcing Klaus to take us out to eat while we left Stefan in the truck. We stopped by a diner and all went in. I decided to get potato soup with some salad. This wasn't the best birthday considering that I wasn't with my friends but it was not burning that's for sure. No one said 'happy birthday' to me but that never mattered to me. After eating we were just talking. They were telling me stories of earlier decades.
I then heard the waitress singing 'happy birthday' carrying a birthday cake with a candle. All of the staff crowded around the booth and even some others were singing. I was blushing a deep red. They finished and placed the cake in front of me. I knew this was Klaus's doing. I look across the table and see Klaus chuckling and I smile at him.
"You remembered." I say happily.
"Of course I did, love." He replies smiling back, the smile that shows his dimples, one that would make anyone swoon.
"How old are you today?" The waitress asks me.
"Uh. I'm 18." I reply quietly not wanting to draw attention. They then start singing again and I think my blush gets worse.
"3...2...1 Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Grace. Happy birthday to you." They all sing. "Have a great day Grace."
"Thanks and all, Nik, but was that necessary?" I ask as my face starts clearing from its redness.
"Yes I think it was." He replies chuckling Bekah laughing as well.
"It's kind but that was so embarrassing," I exclaim as I look down. He laughs more and leans across the table lifting my chin.
"It was rather amusing to watch though." He answers and I laugh along.
"I'm going back to the truck. I'll see you two there." Rebekah says as she waves and walks away.
"Here let's go for a walk, there's a nice park nearby." Klaus offers me his hand. He pays and we take the small cake with us eating it as we walk along the paths of the park. It was fairly calm and the park was beautiful. "Do you want your present, love?"
"Sure," I replied smiling at the man before me lovingly. In such a short amount of time he's become my everything. He turns back to me making us stop in front of a small fountain. He pulls out a box with a ribbon on it. I open the box and inside I see a diamond crescent necklace with a star. I look at it in awe. It's stunning. "Nik...I...I can't except these. It too much I'll feel bad."
"Let me spoil you. Can I?" He asks taking the necklace out. I turn around and move my hair aside. I feel the cold metal of the necklace touch my neck. His fingers trace up my back sending shivers to run up my body. Once I hear the clip of the necklace I turn around putting my hair back into its rightful place and see Nik smirking.
"Thank you," I say looking down. He once again lifts my chin and looks into my eyes.
"Your welcome, love." He replies. We just stay there looking into the eyes of each other for hat feels like forever. I wish it was. It was like it was only the two of us. No one else mattered. All I could see in his eyes were love, admiration, and a hint of cheekiness.
"Mark me," I say. It felt right."In such a short amount of time Nik, you've become so important to me. I can feel the bond growing every day, getting stronger. I want this." I say looking into Nik's eyes. He looks unsure but nods.
He leans down towards my neck looking as though he was going to kiss me but doesn't. similar to how Elijah and Elena's first encounter was. He moves my hair to the side and I tilt me he's giving him more access to my neck. His hands trace down my neck like he's done so many times in the past. His face leans closer and he kisses my jaw. Sparks shoot through my body. He continues his decent on a mission to find my weak spot.
