The light shined through the windows making my eyes open slightly. I woke up wrapped in Klaus's arms. Where I should rightfully be. The bond was completed. I now feel what he does and vice versa. He's so happy and content with me in his arms. I look up to be met with peaceful looking Klaus beside me. His arm comfortably wrapped around me holding me protectively.

Klaus's steady heartbeats along with his breaths were what made me smile. He's usually not this calm. Only while he's fast asleep.

I carefully push myself up with my elbow, allowing me to glance at the bright morning light spilling through the enclosed curtains. I flick my wrist shutting them and keeping the room in darkness with a bit of light shining through. Last night after completing the bond Klaus told me that we had to go to New York to find Finn. I insisted that I could stay but he didn't fully trust my group of friends and believed that they would do something that would hurt me.

I sat there thinking and turned my gaze to see Klaus once again. The peaceful look that was on his face somehow makes him look beyond attractive.

A few strands of his dirty blond hair hung low in his face, waving ever so slightly with each breath he took. I gently laid myself back down scooting myself up higher so we were face to face.

His grip tightened on me as I did, but he didn't wake up. I continue just admiring my sexy mate. Basking in the peaceful moment knowing that today will be hectic.

After everything that's happened between the two of us before and everything that will happen. A lot will change and I don't know what's going to happen so I guess I was savoring this moment. Being greedy wanting it to last forever. Having my friends stop trying to kill my mate and vice versa. Have Ric not have an alter ego. have everything go back. Have my mom back in my life without her looking at me with disgust.

I lightly reach over and trace my fingers against his cheekbone, feeling the light stubble against my fingers. I move my hand and run it across his forehead and tuck away the stray strands of hair that ran across his face.

It was that moment I actually realized that I had never really felt his hair before. Sure, I've tugged at the end strands of his hair but I've never really run my fingers through it. It was soft. Really soft. Soft enough that made me want to run my hands through his hair without a second thought and continue to repeat it. SO I did. Slowly my hand ran through his sandy locks.

Doing it was oddly calming and satisfying, untangling the small knots that had formed overnight mixed with the feeling of his hair between my fingers.

I low noise rumbled deep in Klau's throat and I froze, worrying that I had woken him up. I didn't want this moment to end. Not yet. Not ever.

That worry soon faded away as Klaus shifted his entire body, scooting down so that his head was under my chin.

I just stayed still as both of his hands locked with each other where he had been holding me before pulling me closer to him. All while keeping his eyes closed.

I glanced down at my hands that were still tangled in his hair, trying to ignore the sensations that his hot breath was causing on my neck. The new position was new, but I wasn't complaining.

I continued to slowly drag my fingers through his hair, figuring that his sudden switch meant that he liked what I was doing, whether he was conscious or not. Although I think he was considering that he was lowly purring.

Leaving one of my hands in his hair, I trailed the other one down his neck to his upper back, trailing my nails lightly over it. The purr that emitted from Klaus's chest told me that he liked what I was doing. Something about the vibrations resonated through my own body coaxed me into relaxation. My body melted into his and Klaus pushed himself against me, and pulled me tighter into his chest, locking our ankles together under the covers. Making sure his skin could touch me in any way possible.
