"Prince Roman Adwin Sanders!" Patton shouted, "Son of King Thomas! Brother of Prince Remus! Owner of Destiny! And the person I have to protect!"
"Okay maybe he will kill you," Virgil told Roman.
"Holy sh*t! Why'd you bring the dragon back!" Janus screamed.
"Don't worry, she's not going to hurt us."
Patton ignored the dragon and continued to scold Roman, "You ran after a dragon!? I don't care if- what are their pronouns- doesn't matter currently! I don't care if it didn't attack you! That was incredibly stupid and you could have gotten hurt! I told you not to fight it! Do you know how worried I was?"
"Go easy on him," Logan told Patton, putting a hand on his shoulder, "He was worried about Virgil. He tried to do something good, even if Virgil was completely fine."
Patton sighed, "You're right. I'm happy you guys are okay, though."
Logan noticed that Patton's eyes were red and smiled at him sympathetically, "I promise we are. And I wouldn't have let Roman get hurt."
"Thank you," he turned back to Roman and Roman got ready for more scolding, "I'm still mad at you but I'm glad you're not hurt. Don't scare me like that again."
"I'm really sorry Pat, but I couldn't have let Virgil get hurt," Roman told him.
"And I'm proud of that, but think about your safety first."
"I will."
"Thank you, god you almost gave me a heart attack. I'm too old for this."
"Sure," Janus said under his breath, "You totally weren't prepared to run after him. And you totally haven't chased Remus around the whole castle. Last month. You're too old for all of this."
"I heard that, Janus."
"Sh*t- I mean- uh..."
"Oh boy, I wouldn't have the patients for handling even one of the princes," Logan commented, "And have you really chased him around the whole castle?"
"I-I mean yeah, that boy has a lot of energy and he's really built up his endurance," Patton shrugged.
"You caught him," Janus reminded him, "And he was out of breath. You weren't. Just admit you're super strong and move on with it."
"I only caught him because I saved my energy by taking shortcuts. There's plenty of them in the castle. And it wasn't the first time."
"Smart, and congrats on having perseverance. I would have quit within the first day."
"Oh I love them, and they're not like that all the time."
"Have you already forgotten what Remus is like?"
"He behaves when I bribe him, or when you're around."
"He's even worse when Janus's around," Roman argued
"You're still in trouble so you better watch what you say," Patton told him.
Roman raised his hands up in defense and walked backwards towards Virgil. Virgil was with the dragon still. The dragon was laying down curled with Virgil leaning into them, it had its tail wrapped around him protectively. Roman saw Virgil holding Thumper in his lap.
"There you are Thumper," Roman greeted him, "And you seem comfortable, Virge."
"Hm, new nickname. It seems pretty normal considering the fact that it's coming from you."
"Would you rather fairy boy?"
"I didn't say I didn't like it. And yeah Kayda's comfortable. She's pretty warm."
"So her name is Kayda? Well she does seem very mothering."
"Yeah, I think she likes me a lot."
"You think? She grabbed you and flew off."
"Oh she's a big sweetheart. Even if she did try to burn my dad."
"Sounds like fun. Patton didn't let me help."
"Good, we told you to stay inside."
"But you were in danger!"
"You would have been in danger too if you left the caravan."
"Debatable."
"If I was in danger then you would have been. Don't even try to think you're stronger then me."
"Virgil! We're heading out now," Logan called over.
"I'll drive," Patton volunteered, "You guys need to rest, I'm sure it was nerve racking for you."
"Well allow me to keep you company then," Logan offered.
"I'm going inside the caravan," Janus told them, "Buh bye."
"Roman, come tie Destiny and Rain back onto the caravan," Patton demanded.
"Alright, I suppose that's fair," Roman sighed.
Virgil moved Thumper off of his lap and stood up. Kayda raised her head and stood up with Virgil. Thumper jumped onto her back and Virgil scratched between his ears.
Kayda turned to Virgil and asked, only Virgil can hear her, "Do you have any special ties to that Roman boy?"
"I mean we're friends, why?"
"I can feel something between you two."
"What does that mean?"
"I am unsure."
"Hm, it's probably nothing."
"If you think so."
Patton walked over to Virgil and pulled him into a hug, "I'm glad you're okay, kiddo. I was so scared you three would have gotten hurt."
"I'm sorry about that, Pat."
"It's fine now, I just wish the dragon calmed down before you were taken."
"Kayda is really kind, I swear. She thought I was in danger, right Kayda?"
Kayda nodded and rubbed her head against Patton's side. Patton giggled and scratched behind her horn, causing her to sit down and leaned into the feeling with her tail thumping against the ground.
Virgil caught Thumper as he slid off her back. He set Thumper on his shoulder and glanced at Roman, thinking about what Kayda said.
Dragons are able to sense a lot of things, they're one of the most powerful creatures in the world. They can sense magic, souls, and more. And when they focus hard enough, they can sense relationships between souls. So what did Kayda mean when she said she felt something between them.

"Sir! We've heard rumors that Prince Roman is looking for Prince Remus," a guard told Black, "And he's bringing backup."
"Even if they do find us, we can fight an army," Black said calmly, walking down the hall to his study.
"It's not an army, it's Logan Croft."
Black stopped and turned to the guard, "What?"
"And they're with three others."
Black rubbed his chin. "Get our best men ready to leave. With any luck we'll come across them before they get here."
"Yes sir."
Black smiled. "I'll see you soon, Logan Croft."
