Kayda stalked the forest, walking quietly, making sure her steps were light and slow. The whole time she kept her eyes on the prey, a group of unsuspecting deer. She would have a great meal tonight.

The deer were still, eating some clovers from the forest floor. There were six of them, four of them were older and two of them were young. The young would be spared, there was no need to hunt children. But the older ones weren't going to be so lucky, but a girl had to eat.

Kayda raised her tail and gripped the ground with her claws. She bared her teeth and kept her eyes on her targets, already tasting the deer.

Before she could jump out, a giant white blur beat her to it. Whatever it was, it flew out, grabbed two deer, and scared the rest off.

Kayda gasped, then growled in anger. She flew up after the blur and saw it was another dragon. She was shocked that she hasn't run into them before, but she quickly got over it and pursued them.

"Hey!" she roared over the howl of the wind. "Those were my targets."

The white dragon looked over, their eyes were a beautiful shade of red. He said, "Sorry dear, but I got them first."

"Don't call me dear, you just stole my deer! That was going to be my dinner and you scared the rest away!"

"Tell you what, you catch me and I'll give you one of mine."

Before Kayda could argue further, the white dragon dove down towards the trees but pulled up before he hit any.

Kayda dove down after him and chased. They weaved through trees and flew next to cliffs.

The white dragon looked back at her and laughed in amusement, Kayda was better than she looked at flying and she was almost upon him. Unfortunately for the mystery dragon, he wasn't looking forward and flew straight into a tree.

He dropped the deer and Kayda laughed triumphantly as she caught them. She hovered by the tree and watched the white dragon.

"I win!" she taunted.

"Hey you're not going to steal them both from me, are you?" the other dragon asked.

"Of course not, I'm not a thief. But you owe me one."

"I suppose I do, so what's your name?"

"You can call me Kayda, and you?"

"I'm Ladon."

Ladon licked his claws clean after he finished the deer. Kayda laid in front of him, having finished hers long before him.

"So, where did you last come from?" Kayda asked, "I haven't seen you around these parts and I've lived here my whole life."

"Ah it doesn't matter, the place doesn't exist anymore," Ladon answered.

"What do you mean?"

"Humans. They cut down the forest, having no care in the world that it was home to millions of animals."

"Hmm." Kayda looked away. She's had some run ins with humans before and none were pleasant.

"It's so unfair," Ladon continued. "We should have fought back and scared them away!"
