Soulmate AU - Josh Santos

An AU wherein you can faintly hear the music that your soulmate is listening to when you turn 22. 

"Go Up pa rin?" my friend Bianca asked me as she took the seat in front of me. I ruffled my hair from frustration and pouted.

"I swear, B, all he does is listen to SB19's songs! Paulit-ulit na lang," pagrereklamo ko sa kanya. I sipped on my pink drink and sighed.

"Bakit, maganda naman ang kanta nila, ah?" 

I rolled my eyes. Oo nga pala, she's one of their biggest fans. She even writes fan fictions for them! 

"Yeah, yeah," I said waving my hand in a dismissive way. "I have no arguments with that, B. Pero hello naman! If all you hear are those songs 24/7, makukulili rin ang tainga mo no." 

She chuckled at my misery. Palibhasa ay nakatagpo na niya ang soulmate niya. I can't help but pout. 

"But is it true though?" I asked curiously. She raised an eyebrow at me asking me to continue on. "That the music will grow louder if he's near you?" 

She smiled at me and nodded lightly as she took a sip from her iced coffee. 

"Yup. That's how I met Alexandrei diba nga, Joy?" 

"Ah oo! Alam mo napakasweet nun, promise! Imagine, he's the geeky guy you've been crushing on all your college years, then one day he asked to share the same earphones with you!" 

My friend blushed like a tomato as she recalled the fateful day when they met. Patuloy niya lang ininom ang kape niya. 

She cleared her throat and changed the subject. Napakamahiyain talag nitong babaitang 'to pagdating sa lovelife niya. 

"So, is Go Up still playing?" 

I listened intently to the faint music on my head.

Hold up, this isn't familiar. 

My face must've shown my confusion because she asked me. "Nagbago na?"

I nodded still figuring out kung ano yung kantang pinakikinggan niya. 

"It sounded like their voice but it's a new song. May bago ba silang release?" 

Umiling siya. "Wala pa, next week pa yung release ng Alab. Buong kanta ba yung napapakinggan mo?" 

"Oo, eh." 

She took out her phone and showed me a video. 

"Does it sound like this? This is Alab's teaser." 

Pinakinggan ko ito ulit nang mabuti at tumango. 

Bianca started grinning widely like a mad man. I looked at her puzzled. 

"Oh, anong mukha yan Biancs?" 

"Joy! What if- what if!" She said excitedly, ni hindi niya manlang matuloy yung sasabihin niya. 

"What if what?" 

"What if soulmate mo pala ang isa sa SB19?" She shrieked which made the people inside the cafe look at us. Out of reflex I grabbed her head and covered her mouth. 

"Ingay mo, hija. Kumalma ka nga. Sila lang ba naakarinig ng bago nilang kanta? Hindi diba. Malay mo producer nila or kaya naman staff."

I instantly removed my hand from her mouth as I felt her lick my palm. 

"Kadiri mo, Bianca! Para kang bata!" 

Tumawa lang siya at inabutan ako ng tissue. I glared at her which she just laughed at.
