Paghakbang - Sejun Nase

[inspired from a scene from the k-drama my father is strange]

Nakaupo si Sejun sa harapan ng salamin kung saan siya inaayusan. It was his shoot for SB19's latest single. Sa loob ng dressing room ay tanging siya, ang make-up artist at ang manager niya na si Paula na nakaupo sa mini sofa lang ang naroroon. She was waiting for him to finish.

"Tignan mo nga Sejun, ayos na ba 'to?" tanong sa kaniya ni Anjie, ang make-up artist.

Sinipat niya ang tatlong kiss marks sa mga pisngi niya. Kailangan kasi iyon para sa music video. Medyo kumunot ang noo niya dahil halatang-halata na peke lamang ito, those were just hand painted by Anjie on his face.

Magsasalita na sana siya to voice out his opinion when the director barged in.

"Oh, Sejun. Okay ka na ba? Scene mo na in 10 mins."

Lumapit ito sa kaniya at sinipat ang mukha niya. Direk Ivo slowly shook his head and made a tsk sound.

"Anj, hindi pwede 'to. Masyadong halatang fake, mahahalata ng viewers 'to," wika ni Direk Ivo, iyon din ang gustong sabihin ni Sejun kanina.

"I-re-redo ko nalang po, Direk. Pasensya na po."

Umiling si Ivo, "No, painting it on his face won't do. We need..." real kisses on his face.

Hindi niya natuloy ang sasabihin niya dahil naaninag niya sa salamin si Paula.

"You, hija!"

Ang kanina pang tahimik na manager ay nabigla sa sinabi ng direktor.

"Ako po?" She asked puzzled.

"Yes, Paula. We need you!"

"Para saan po, Direk?"

Ngumiti ito sa kaniya at nilapitan siya. He pulled her up and pushed her towards Sejun.

"Nagmamadali na tayo at kailangan namin ang tulong mo. Sejun needs kiss marks on his face. At ikaw ang gagawa 'nun."

Sabay na nanlaki ang mata ni Sejun at Paula. Hindi sila parehong makapaniwala sa kanilang narinig.

"Ba-bakit po ako? Bakit po hindi nalang si Anjie?"

"Ma-a-awkward si Sejun kapag si Anjie ang gumawa noon."

Gusto sanang sumabat ni Sejun para mag-protesta dahil ngayon palang ang malakas na ang kabog ng dibdib niya. Dang, of course he'll feel awkward when Paula—his manager and childhood friend—kisses him! Not that he doesn't want because God knows how much he longed for it since they were youngsters pero pakiramdam niya ngayon ay aatakihin siya sa puso!

"Balita ko magkababata kayo, okay lang naman siguro kung hahalikan mo siya, sa pisngi lang naman. Kailangang-kailangan lang talaga."

Halata sa mukha ni Paula ang pag-aalangan. Nilingon siya ng dalaga.

"It's okay if you don't want to, Pau," he said smiling. Kahit kasi gusto niya ay kailangan niya pa ring i-consider ang nararamdaman at opinyon ng dalaga.

Bumuntong hininga ito at nilingon si Direk Ivo.

"Uhm, sige po gagawin ko na."

"Salamat, hija! Oh, Anjie, apply some lipstick on her."

Nilagyan siya ng lipstick ni Anjie, it was in the color of red. Matapos nito ay lumapit siya kay Sejun na nakaupo pa rin, ngunit sa pagkakataong ito ay nakaharap na ito sa kaniya at tinanggal na nito ang naunang faux kiss marks sa mukha nito.

Sejun's heart was beating so fast, he felt as if it'll burst out from his chest. Little did he know, Paula felt the same way.

Lumapit ang dalaga sa kaniya. When she was in front of him, she stopped and tied her hair into a high pony tail. She does that whenever she's about to do something she's nervous about. He knows because they've been friends since they were toddlers.

"Dito, dito at saka rito," sabi nito sa kaniya habang tinuturo ang mga parte ng mukha niya na hahalikan ng dalaga.

Tumango si Sejun.

"Okay, game," she said and heaved a deep breath.

She dipped her head and kissed Sejun on his upper right cheek. When he felt her lips softly touching his cheek he can't help but hold his breath. Napahigpit din ang kapit niya sa arm rest ng upuan.

He felt her hot breath hovering his face when she shifted her head to kiss the other side of his cheeks. The last one was on the left side of his face, just a few centimeters near his lips. Lalong napahigpit ang hawak niya sa arm rest, sobrang bilis ng tibok ng dibdib niya, sa palagay niya ay pulang-pula na ang mga tainga niya.

When she was done agad itong lumayo sa kaniya, he glanced at her and saw her face burning red. Deep inside, he was glad that he had that kind of effect on her.

Quits lang tayo, Pau Pau.

Ivo checked his face, "Iba talaga kapag totoo. Perk parang may kulang."

"Ano pa po, Direk?" Tanong ni Sejun.

Instead of answering him Ivo turned to Paula asked, "Can you kiss him on the lips as well? This time apply a thicker lipstick para halata yung kiss mark."

Paula was so shocked to the point that she looked like she was about to faint.

A kiss on the lips? With her?

Sejun felt as if he was about to faint as well. And he'd be lying if he'll say that be did not want it because heck, he wanted it so bad. He wanted her so bad, noon pa man.

"Para lang mas maging realistic na nambabae si Sejun, hija."

"K-kailangan po ba talaga?"

"If it's okay with the both of you."

"Ah, ano-"

"Ako nalang po gagawa. Kung- kung okay lang sa'yo Pau Pau," sabat ni Sejun. "You, uhm, you just have to stand there."

He looked at her intently. Paula felt as if she was bewitched and hypnotized by Sejun's eyes, so she slowly nodded her head.

"Very good! Very good! Osya, carry on, babalik lang ako sa set para i-check kung okay na ba ang set-up doon."

Pagkasabi nito ni Direk ay umalis na ito leaving only the three of them inside the room.

"Anj, lipstick," Sejun said asking to the red lipstick as he stood up from his seat.

Inabot ito sa kaniya ni Anjie.

"Ako na mag-a-apply, Pau Pau."

"Hi-hindi, ako na."

He chuckled and ruffled her hair.

"Kulit. Ako na sabi."

In the end she gave in and agreed to her childhood friend. He applied a sufficient amount on her lips, sufficient enough to leave a mark on his. Little did they know, while they were on their own world Anjie slipped away to give them some privacy, she wouldn't want to watch the two kiss.

"Ayan okay na," he said smiling. "I- I'll do it na, Pau, ha."

"Paulo," bulong niya. "This- this is my first kiss."

"I know. And I promise to take responsibility for it."

With that he slowly lowered his face to be leveled with hers. He inched closer and closer to her, his hands holding her back.

"May I?"

Without answering, Paula closed her eyes and waited for him.

Sejun kissed her softly at first and then deepening it the second, so as to make sure that the mark will be on his lips and to make sure to get his message across.

"Pau pau, I love you."

Note:

Direk Ivo knew that they could've just smudge some lipstick on Sejun's lips but he knew Sejun needed the push so... 😂
