Corey didn't live too far away and turned out to be a typical weeb. When David walked into the guys house, he was greeted by shelves of anime figures and posters.

As they walked passed the kitchen, David saw piles of dirty dishes filling the sink and covering the counters. If the guy actually cooked his own meals, David couldn't imagine where he had space to put the pots and pans to prepare them.

In the living room, there was a large flat screen TV in front of a small couch and GTR-Racing gaming chair. Laid out on display in front of it was an assortment of consoles. There was a Switch, a Playstation, an Xbox, and even a modified SNES.

The coffee table by the couch was full of wrappers, empty cans, and half eaten bowls of food, some of which were moldy. On top of all that, the whole apartment smelled of grease. To most this house was unlivable, but David had stayed at worse and had no issues shrugging it off.

"Hope you like Overlord." Corey commented as he set his bottles down on the floor and logged onto his Funimation account.

David had never heard of that show. As a matter of fact, he was unfamiliar with most of the topics that Corey brought up. The guy was really into his anime culture.

"Your self employment must be doing better than I thought if you can afford all of this." David remarked as he searched for a semi-clean spot to sit.

"Naw, this was all bought with my savings." Corey scratched his head. "I was staying at my parents for a while, but then they started charging me rent and I decided it'd be best to get my own place if I was gonna pay for it anyways."

    "You really like your freedom."

"Viva la Resistance!" Corey pumped his fist in the air in exaggeration.

The rest of the night was spent drinking from questionably clean cups and watching an over powered skeleton try to take over the world. David had no problems falling asleep in this environment. He had grown up in a similar household after all.

When morning came he found that Corey was fast asleep in the gaming chair with the TV paused on the end credits of an episode of Overlord. Doing his best not to wake his friend, David hunted down the bathroom and attempted to calm his wild mop of hair. It had turned unruly as he slept and he knew Mr. Black would throw a fit if he noticed.

Wait, why would that matter? Mr. Black was being an ass so his opinion doesn't matter right now.

Huffing, David gave up on his hair and left with a quick 'goodbye' shout to Corey, jolting the man awake. From there he walked to the office, thankful it was close to the outskirts of the city and not further inward, otherwise he'd have had to pay for a taxi.

He entered Mr. Black's office to find the man focused on his computer. Odds were that he was going over his schedule for the day, like he did every morning. He didn't bother looking up when David arrived.

"Good Morning." David greeted him with a tight smile.

The demon's eyes flicked towards him, then back at the screen, then his head shot up as he took in David's appearance.

    "What happened to you?"

David froze. "What do you mean?"

Mr. Black got out of his chair and approached the small human. His gaze roved over David from head to toe before he gave into his meticulous habits and started straightening the humans collar. "Your hair is a mess, your cloths are wrinkled, and you're wearing the same exact thing you did yesterday. Did it not occur to you to change before coming in?"
