A lot of what happened between Ricky and Kevin was a blur to David. All he knew was that Kevin had become a stuttering mess after Ricky ordered him to leave the building. The man was in utter disbelief up until Ricky made a show of calling his boss and informing her that she would need to start looking for a new assistant ASAP.

David watched as the only other demon that he thought was his friend glowered at him, then trudged off with his lunchbox.

"How long has he been harassing you?" Ricky asked, drawing David's attention back to him.

Unable to form words, he just shook his head.

"This was the first time?"

"He was always so nice to me. I don't know how things escalated like that..." David explained, dumbfounded.

Ricky gave him a comforting pat on his back. "It's alright, just know that none of that was your fault."

David stared up at him doubtfully. Kevin never struck him as such a scumbag before. He had seemed eager to help David anytime he showed up, and it was always a relief knowing he could turn to someone at the office for help. But after today, what was he going to do? Maybe he should have just said yes. It's not like it would have killed David to have that kind of relationship...No. Ricky was right. Kevin was the one who blew up and tried to manipulate him. All David did was turn him down, so why did he still feel guilty?

Seeing that his words didn't make an impact, Ricky sighed and made another call, this time to his own assistant. "Clear my schedule, something urgent came up, and tell Mr. Black that David is going to be out for the rest of the day too."

His ears perked at that. "What are you doing?"

"We're taking the rest of the day off. It's about time we started hanging out again." Ricky smiled comfortingly. "Come on, I got a fancy new car to show off."

David was in zombie mode as he followed behind his best friend. He knew Ricky was busy and his schedule was always jam packed with meetings, plus his husbands would usually stop by during lunch or after work. So having Ricky clear his entire schedule just to spend time with him was a pretty big deal.

As they approached a silver Ferrari in the VIP parking lot, Ricky continued their conversation. "You haven't been texting me, so I thought I'd visit you during lunch. Perfect timing huh?"

"Tell me about it." David agreed.

After their last talk, David became hesitant about texting Ricky at all and had stopped completely for fear of causing problems for the guy. Considering they went a full two months without any contact, he thought Ricky wouldn't have had a problem with that.

They got in the car and Ricky pulled out of the parking lot. "What do you think?" He nodded towards the dashboard. "Pretty sweet, right?"

"Yeah." David nodded distractedly. After riding in luxury cars with Mr. Black so much, the little Ferrari didn't seem too special.

Ricky frowned, but didn't push the topic as he made his way south. It was at this point that David realized he had no idea where his friend was taking him.

"So uh...What's the plan exactly?" He asked, realizing that things were becoming awkward fast.

"First, we need to talk."

"We already talked though?"

"No. Not like last time. We need a real talk."

"I don't understand."

Ricky sighed and took a moment to think over his words. When he found them, he kept his eyes on the road. "I've been thinking about a few things since the last time we spoke, and I realized that I...I haven't really been that great of a friend recently."
