That night went very similar to the first one. After they dried off and got in bed, Mr. Black clung to David like some giant teddy bear. It was endearing, but also worrisome because once again he was reminded that the man was acting a bit too attached to him. David was very tempted to take advantage of Mr. Black's hospitality and ask to move in, but where would that lead?

In the past, David would find someone willing to take him in whenever he was low on money. He'd work for a bit, then lose his job or gamble his earnings away. His partners at the time would then grow irritated by his behavior and start to nag him, which turned into full blown arguments before David ultimately walked out on them.

As much as he'd like to avoid that scenario, he couldn't deny that this new job still had him on edge. Sure, the pay was fantastic and he'd be an idiot if he quit, but at the same time he still felt uncomfortable working around demons. After all, there were definitely people in the company who didn't want him there.

Rolling over, David closed his eyes and tried to get some sleep. By the time morning came, he didn't want to get up, but was ultimately urged out of bed and properly dressed by his meticulous partner.

Back at the office, Mr. Black went over his schedule for the day. There weren't nearly as many meetings as before, so they'd have time to get lunch together. All David had to do was carry around the handouts then sit in the corner and wait for further instruction.

"Sorry we don't have a proper desk for you yet." Mr. Black apologized. "I didn't have a personal secretary here, so the desk was removed. Don't worry though, I'll have one set up by next week."

"That's okay, I don't mind." David admitted, glad that he wasn't being forced to sit alone during his first few days.

"Well since we have some time today, perhaps I should introduce you to a few people in the office?" The demon offered. "My schedule didn't allow formal introductions earlier, so this would be perfect. I'm sure you'll grow to recognize a few faces."

"Sure." David agreed, not actually listening and instead staring out the enormous window.

"Great." Mr. Black clapped his hands loudly, startling David. "Let's do it then."

"What?"

"Come along." The demon did not repeat himself and led the way out of his office.

David followed towards the elevators. They went down a few floors and met with the Board of Directors. Only two of them were in the office, the rest of which were scattered between other locations and only ever joined in on meetings via Zoom. One of them, Mrs. Blanchett, was an elderly looking woman with grey hair and a light pink business skirt and blazer. She seemed like a typical grandmother the way she smiled at everyone. She didn't seem to have a problem with David at all and shook his hand happily.

Then there was Mr. Caruthers. The man was burly and looked like he could smash the Great Wall of China just by flexing at it. His dark brown hair was combed back and he had a dazzling smile full of perfect teeth. Clearly this man cared about his health.

David recognized both of them from earlier meetings, so he did his best to memorize their names since he was positive he'd be seeing them again.

"We only have one of our VP's here. She's the head of HR, so she's normally as busy as I am." Mr. Black approached a desk that was stationed in front of a closed office door. Sitting behind that desk was the platinum blond demon from yesterday.

"Hello, is Ms. Carter available right now?" Mr. Black greeted Kevin, who smiled up after making brief eye contact with David.

"She's actually in a meeting. She has three lined up and won't be free till at least two."
