Days began flying by and before David knew it, he had become completely adjusted to working at Capsicom.

Mr. Black made sure to keep their relationship as professional as possible after their talk, but he insisted they at least eat lunch together every day. The demon still had a few bouts of jealousy whenever David so much as waved at Kevin, but at most he'd make a face, then get right back to work.

Kevin acted a bit strange though. After Mr. Black chased him off he was hesitant to talk to David again for a while. They stopped going to the gardens, which was fine with him since he didn't want to give the guy the wrong idea anyways. That didn't change the fact that David still needed advice from time to time. He figured there was no harm in seeking council from the blond while he was at his desk. As long as they weren't alone, he couldn't try anything.

Around the third day, Kevin quit giving lame excuses to avoid him and went back to his usual self.

"The mail room would be a good start." Kevin suggested after David asked what a good starting job would be for a human. There were only so many PA positions and it strongly relied on if their boss was tolerant of having an ill trained human work for them.

"You guys have your own mail room?"

    "Every company does."

The two of them were at Kevin's desk with David sitting on the corner. When Kevin first started talking to him again, their conversations were very short. Luckily David was able to visit him often enough so that after a week the man returned to being just as social as before. Currently Mr. Black was in a private meeting and David didn't feel like sitting alone to wait, so he was all the more grateful to have Kevin to talk to again.

"Have you gotten anyone to turn in a resume yet?" The blond asked.

David clicked his tongue. "No. I'm still trying to get them to contact me back actually. It's been years since I've seen or spoken to any of them so it's not going well."

    "Oh. Sorry to hear that."

David had decided to confide in Kevin that he planned to help get more humans into Capsicom. He didn't tell him about the issue with the investors since he felt like that was supposed to remain between Mr. Black and himself, but it served as a good topic to help mend their friendship after the man scared the hell out of him before.

"So..." Kevin scratched the back of his neck nervously. "You and Mr. Black..."

David quirked an eyebrow. "What about us?"

"Well, I thought I'd just confirm...He claimed you, right?"

David did a double take. "Claimed me? What does that mean?"

The blond shrugged and tried to play it off. "Nothing, just...In the gardens he was throwing his aura around and I thought that was why."

    "Aura?"

Kevin stared at him for a moment before remembering that David wasn't accustomed to their culture. "Right. Human. Somehow I keep forgetting that you wouldn't know all this already." He sat forward. "When a demon likes someone very much, they claim them. How we do that is we display our aura, which is like a radio signal that tells all nearby demons just how strong we are and to stay away."

David recalled how all the other demons in the office had cowered in Mr. Black's wake. He assumed it was something like that, but he didn't quite like the sound of being 'claimed'.

"What exactly does it mean to be claimed?" David decided to prod.

"To put it simply, it's a way to tell all other demons not to make a move on you."
