David was at a loss as he watched Mr. Black approach, his eyes glowing an angry crimson and focused on Kevin. Didn't he say he never had time to come to the gardens? What was he doing here now? And why did he look like he was about to kill Kevin?

Glancing down, he realized the man still had his hand on Davids. Quickly he yanked his back and stood just as the demon arrived.

"Mr. Hill." Mr. Black greeted Kevin professionally, which was a vast offset to his obvious sour mood. "I need a moment with my assistant."

Kevin stuttered, his head both shaking and nodding at the same time before stepping away, abandoning the remainder of his lunch.

David  remained fixed on the angry demon looming over him. The hairs on the back of his neck were standing on end and his sense of self preservation was screaming DANGER.

Mr. Blacks fiery gaze fell on him. "Come with me. Your lunch is over."

If he wasn't so damn scared of irritating the man any further, he'd have argued. However now didn't seem like a good time to be snippy, so he nodded, then grabbed both his and Kevin's plates to dispose of on the way.

They didn't say a word the entire time, but for some reason the other demons seemed to either cower or flee as Mr. Black passed them. Some weren't even looking at him when they did this, making David wonder if the guy was giving off some sort of Demon ESP Danger Waves that only other supernatural beings could sense.

Once they made it to his office the silence became deafening. Mr. Black closed the door and immediately stomped to his desk where he began pinching the bridge of his nose as he closed his eyes tightly.

David recognized this as the demons way of trying to get his eyes or mood under control. Grateful that the man was making an effort to calm himself before talking, David stood patiently and waited.

It felt like ages before Mr. Black finally spoke.

"I thought it was only Ricky I had to worry about."

David didn't reply. He just shifted his feet and stared at the ground. Mr. Black glanced up, his eyes still red, but his expression seemed calm. Not a good sign.

This situation reminded David of when he'd be called into the principals office back in middle school. He had always been too nervous to speak up in front of an intimidating adult when he as a child, and here he was in a similar situation with a demon. It was hard to remind himself that Mr. Black would never hurt him when the man was so obviously pissed right now.

"I know it's not my place to tell you who you are allowed to see, but I want to make one thing clear. I don't appreciate it if my....Partners...Go off cavorting with other men without at least clarifying our relationship."

In all honesty that seemed fair. The two of them had started sleeping together without verifying if they were actually in a committed relationship. They never agreed to be exclusive to each other, nor have they proclaimed any romantic feelings. If anything, their current relationship was just physical.

David took a deep breath and faced the man. His red eyes were unnerving, so it was hard to keep eye contact, but he managed to do it anyways. "Okay." He started slowly. "For one, I'm not interested in Kevin."

"If that's the case, then you should address him as Mr. Hill. It is more professional." Mr. Black responded matter-of-factly.

"Right. Well, he's interested in me, but I don't like him that way. I just consider him a coworker that I can learn from."
