chapter 2: getting acquainted

After my practice was over, I made my way home after dropping Ashley, one girl from the cheer squad home. Once I got home, I quickly notified my mother that I was there and then I went to my room to drop off my thing and to take a shower. I had expected the practice to be hard but what we did today was harder than I expected and I really felt like I was out of shape because I didn't cheer for so long. Also, I had to learn the entire routine from scratch because I joined mid-semester and it was a lot but to my advantage, I was a quick learner so that wouldn't cause too much problems.

When I was done in my bathroom, I decided to go back downstairs to my mother to tell her about my day. I found her in the living-room watching some series on the television as she did almost every evening and whilst she was doing that, I sat down next to her and snuggled to her side. I knew I was probably too old to do all that stuff but when it came to my mother I really didn't care.

She asked me how my day and the audition went and I told her that it was amazing and that I was in the cheerleading team now. Congratulating me, my mother told me that she knew that I could do it and she gave me some more encouraging words which made me very happy because I knew that I could be proud of myself because I accomplished making my mother proud. The best thing about her was that she always believed in me no matter what. She was definitely the best mother in the entire world.

Then I proceeded to tell my mother about Justin and everything I found out about him today and my mother was more than interested to hear all about it. I just told her about his name, about his status in school and about what Stella told me about him playing with girls every now and then to which my mother told me to be careful because she didn't want my heart to get broken.

I just rolled my eyes to that and let her know that I literally didn't know the boy so he had no chances to even do something like breaking my heart but she just said that we were going to see all about that in the future. I didn't even know if I was going to have another conversation with him at all because for I all knew he could be talking to the next girl already from what I'd heard about him but I guess I really just had to wait and see about all that in the future.

My mother and I talked about some things she wanted to tell me and about some other stuff for what felt like hours and when I felt like I was too tired and exhausted to stay up any longer, I said my goodnights to her and I went back to my room and straight to my bed and waited until I fell asleep.

The next morning, I heard my mother waking me up by telling me it was time to get up. I was confused when I slowly opened my eyes to see that it was my mother waking me up and not my alarm and that it was 8 in the morning which meant that I had overslept. My class didn't start until 9 so I basically had some more time until I had to be at school but that gave me less time to get ready for it.

I greeted my mother quickly and then I immediately went to the bathroom so that I wouldn't lose my much time. I did everything thing very quickly from brushing my teeth to taking a shower and I didn't even bother to do my hair so I threw it in a bun and I decided to skip the make up for today. After I got dressed I walked downstairs to the kitchen to find something to eat before I left. I then noticed how tired and exhausted I actually was and that I didn't feel like going to school at all but I was not about to skip when I just started school and my mother wouldn't let me anyway so I just went.

At school, some of the girls noticed that I wasn't in the mood because I didn't do much talking and they tried to cheer me up which actually improved my mood a little. I really appreciated that they made the effort and that they cared enough to make me smile. Out of all the girl Stella of course and Leah were the ones I was closest to at the moment. We had a pretty similar character and that's why I had the feeling that our friendship was going to be fantastic.
