chapter 20; complete and utter happiness
_____

Julie

"What the hell, let me go," I said to Luke, who was standing in front of me. Out of all the people, he was the last one I wanted to see, ever, yet our paths crossed every damn time and I didn't like it at all. And to think that he was actually my boyfriend in there? Disgusting. Where was my boyfriend even?

"Chill," Luke said and let go of my hand that he was still holding. He began walking closer to me and I automatically walked back until I hit the wall of the house and I had nowhere else to go. He took that to his advantage and came so close that he placed his hands on each side of my head, "I'm not here to hurt you or anything. I just want to talk."

"Talk about what?" I scoffed, "I don't really want to talk to you right now, leave me alone okay?"

"Can you just shut up for a second and hear me out, damn," he spat and I flinched and stayed quiet as I looked into his brown eyes. "Good girl," he smirked and stared at me and his stare was very intimidating and that was probably why I didn't do anything at all.

"What I wanted to tell you is that I'm sorry for what happened in my house when you came over for the first time," he said and went through his hair with his hand.

"So you're sorry and you want me to believe you?" I asked him skeptically because I simply couldn't believe that he was being honest with me. The last time we spoke to each other he was acting like nothing happened and now all of a sudden he wanted to give out apologies? That didn't make sense to me in the slightest.

"Yeah obviously, or else I wouldn't be speaking to you right now," Luke answered.

I didn't answer him right away and thought about what I wanted to say to him for a second and if I was even willing to believe him. I was sure that he didn't care and it confused me so much that he was trying to play nice now. I really wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt but I didn't know if I could do that quite yet.

"Luke, I don't know if I can believe what you are saying right now and to be honest I don't have time for that. I need to find Justin," I said to him to avoid further conversation and then I moved underneath his arm and walked away from him and towards the house.

I heard him chuckle, "you sure you wanna go in there again?" he asked me and I stopped right in my tracks.

He was right. I didn't want to go back into that creepy-ass house but I needed to find Justin and if he wasn't out here, he needed to be in there. I had two options right now. Option one was going into the dark, ugly, ruined, probably haunted house with ghosts who will be after me, to find Justin. Option two was to stay outside with Luke. I thought about it for a second and made my decision.

I chose option two.

I didn't want to be here with Luke but did I have another choice? Not really. I turned around and looked at Luke, who was leaning against the wall with a smirk on his face.

"Thought so," he said and I rolled my eyes to that.

We both were standing in front of the house in silence, a really uncomfortable silence but at least he got the message to not talk to me. I was wondering why the others didn't leave the house until now because there wasn't anything interesting about it. I was hoping that they would come out soon because it was late already and very dark outside. Besides, it was getting cold and I didn't have the nerve to stay outside with Luke any longer. These few minutes were enough for me.

"Are you cold?" Luke asked me. I looked at him and shook my head. "Okay then tell me why you're shivering?" he lifted his eyebrow and I noticed that he was right.
