The news quickly spread that Hans broke his nose in a skateboarding accident. Hans didn't skate, but apparently no body knew that. Elsa laughed when she heard the rumor. Hans couldn't say he was punched by a girl. It'd break he precious little reputation. Hans never texted, called or showed up to Elsa's house again. It was more of a relief than Elsa had thought.
By noon on Tuesday, Elsa and Anna's parents called, telling them they'd be home in a couple days. Anna and Elsa were overjoyed. They put together a welcome back party which kind of also doubled as Elsa's birthday party, which was next week. They still hadn't told their parents of the fire. They'd probably rather hear it in person.
It turned out the fire was set from a curling iron in the changing room. One of the skaters left it plugged in and next to a box of tissues.
Elsa washed her car Tuesday afternoon in front of her house. It was a really hot day, but at least the water cooled her off some. Suddenly, someone came up behind her and hugged her. She was startled and accidentally sloshed water on whomever was behind her.
"Woah woah, I'm not going to rob you!" Jack gave Elsa a little grin before trying to wring out his shirt.
"I'm so sorry," Elsa dropped the hose and handed Jack a towel.
"There'll be no need for that."
Elsa cocked a brow. "Why not?"
Jack sneakily pulled an orange ball from behind his back. "Water balloon fight!" He threw it and it popped right on Elsa's stomach.
"Hey!"
Jack shrugged. "You splashed me first."
Luckily, Elsa had a plastic bag wrapped around her wrist cast because she was already washing her car. Now, the water ballon fight was on. Elsa spotted a laundry basket full of filled balloons on the porch. Both madly dashed to the basket to grab some. Elsa beat Jack to it and threw one at Jack. It hit him square on the chest. She grabbed a couple more and ran away before he could grab and throw some at her. Pretty soon, they were chasing each other around the yard, getting absolutely drenched.
Elsa aimed a balloon for Jack as he stood in front of her door, trying to gather up more balloons. She released just as the door opened. Jack ducked and the balloon hit Anna squarely in the gut.
Elsa put a hand to her mouth, not knowing wether to laugh or be scared.
Anna stood a moment, comprehending, before grabbing a balloon from Jack who still stood in front of her and chucking it at Elsa. Elsa turned to run, but it hit her on her shoulder blade.
"She got me!"
Anna laughed and pretty soon, the three of them were chasing each other once more.

At 9:00 that night, Jack received a call from Tooth.
"Hey, heard you're planning a trip with Elsa."
"Yep. Wait, how did you kno-"
"I figure these things out, Jack."
Jack shrugged it off. "Yeah, what about it?"
"Pitch asked me out right after the dance and I thought it would be fun if we, you know, tagged along. You don't have to if you don't want to, I mean, just-"
"Yeah! That sounds great!"
"Really?"
"Yeah! I'd like my best friend to come with me too, it'll be fun."
"I'm sure it will be! Cool, I'll tell Pitch, maybe as a surprise or something. He's so quiet, I thought some time with you would help him talk to me more."
"I can't tell if that's a compliment or an insult."
"Both!" He heard her snigger. "You're loud and friendly."
"Heh, glad you cleared that up."
"Haha. Anyway, thanks again for the invite to your trip!"
"Technically, you invited yourself."
"Yeah, but you agreed. No take-backsies!"
"Okay, okay, I won't."

Wednesday afternoon came and Jack and Elsa sat looking up at the sky in Jack's backyard. Jack had told Elsa of Tooth and Pitch coming along and she was fine with it. She saw how excited Jack got when he told her his best friend wanted to come along. Even if she wanted to, she probably couldn't have said no.
Elsa asked if maybe Anna and possibly Kristoff could tag along. Jack agreed. Later when Elsa asked her, she said she'd think about it.
"So. Are we a go on the trip then?"
Elsa shrugged. "I guess so."
"Do you want to go?" Jack was a little sad. He didn't want to make her go.
"Of course I do," she grabbed his hand.
"But?"
"Does there have to be a "but"?"
"I don't know, but is there one?"
Elsa shrugged again. "I don't know. It sounds fun and everything but it just sounds kind of... big."
"How do you mean?"
"We only got together at the beginning of the summer, and I've loved it, but everything just seems to be going by so fast."
Jack nodded and moved himself in front of her, holding both of her hands. "I don't want to rush you into anything. If you don't want to go on this trip, just say the word and I'll cancel."
"Jack-"
"And if we do go, it'll only be like, a week. Nothing too extravagant. I love you too much to lose you over a silly road trip."
Elsa smiled. "I love you too. And I'd love to go on this trip with you. It'll be fun," she leaned forward and kissed him.
