The next two days were hell. Elsa tried calling and texting Jack. He didn't pick up. Anna spent more time with Elsa, and she took comfort in that. Kristoff came over Tuesday, and they watched a movie together. Anna made sure she was right between her boyfriend and her sister.
Halfway through, Elsa excused herself and went to her room. She just wanted to be alone. She got on her laptop. After a while, she made her way to Facebook where she had a message. She clicked on the notification.
It was from Olaf: Elsa, you do know about the video?
Elsa messaged him back.
Elsa: what video?
He answered her right away.
Olaf: this one
He added a link. Elsa clicked on it and it led her to a you tube video. It was titled: Never pi$s off your girlfriend.
Oh crap. Elsa, though afraid, clicked play.
It was a shaky video of her yelling at Hans and a guy sneaking up behind and dumping water on her. Was her scream really that loud? It then went into her yelling more at him, him kissing her, and Hans getting wet from her hug. The video stopped there.
Quickly, she scrolled to how many views it had. "Holy crap!"
Over a million views. And he posted it yesterday!? How in the world did it get this much publicity?
"Ugh," she rubbed her face with her hands. She shut the computer and pushed away from her, though unfortunately, didn't push the video away.
This was great. Just. Freaking. Great.
❄❄❄
Jack saw the video. It was like an over night sensation. He was overly bothered by Hans kissing her. He had no right to do that! Jack knew it wasn't Elsa's fault. He didn't blame her, though he pretty much let on that he did.
Mostly, he left because he didn't want her pity. He didn't want her to see him like that. The only thing more painful than leaving, was staying. It only made things harder for Jack.
Jack had work in the ice cream parlor which helped take up most of his time. He didn't answer any of Elsa's calls or texts. He didn't feel like talking to anyone.
❄❄❄
Jack set his stuff down by the door after working at the rink Wednesday night. His mother was in the living room, his father in the kitchen.
"Jack, honey! Would you care to tell me what you've been up to lately?" Jack cringed at his mother's voice.
He had tried hiding his face from her so she couldn't see he was beaten up, but she caught on to those things.
He entered the living room silently and sat next to his mother. She set her book aside and turned to Jack. Her eyes went sad as she saw his bruises and cuts up close for the first time.
"Jack, you can tell me." She pleaded.
Jack frowned and hung his head. "I, it's nothing. I'm fine."
"You clearly are not! Jack, no more secrecy, no more not telling me you'll be out late. Please, Jack."
That made him think of Elsa. How he'd brushed her off and left though she pleaded him to stay. He sighed.
"Mom, there's something you should know."
❄❄❄
Jack told his mother all about meeting Elsa and how he's helped her. He told of his drunk incident and how she was there for him. Jack mentioned her trip to the hospital and how she became his girlfriend. He told her everything leading up to the fight.
The whole time she nodded and gasped at the right times. She took hold of his hands and held them comfortingly in hers. For the first time in a while, Jack knew there was always someone there for him.
❄❄❄
Elsa has given up on trying to get a hold of Jack. It was already Wednesday and he was not even trying. Anna noticed and tried to help, but Elsa would only shut herself in her room and either sleep or read. She wouldn't come out for hours at a time and when she did, it was to use the bathroom or get something to eat.
Anna eventually came up with something, and with Kristoff's help, they pulled it together.
Anna knocked on Elsa's door. "Elsa?" No answer. "Elsa, please. I know you're in there."
After a little while, Anna just opened the door. "Elsa."
"What?" Elsa said quietly from her comfy chair.
"We need to get you outside." Anna marched straight to Elsa's closet and pulled out a nice T-shirt and shorts.
Elsa didn't protest. She changed and let Anna drag her outside and into Kristoff's car.
Anna sat in the back seat with Elsa and talked on about things she and Kristoff had been planning to do and how she never knew what movie to watch with her friends and so on. Kristoff made a comment or two here and there. Anna's talking kept Elsa's mind off the road and where they were going. By the time they reached a town, Elsa was completely lost.
"You girls want to grab a bite somewhere?"
"I'm not really hungry. How about you, Elsa?" Anna asked.
"I'm fine. Kristoff, where are we?"
"Do you want ice cream?" Kristoff went on with the food, ignoring her question.
"Where are we?" Elsa repeated herself.
"Ice cream sounds great!" Anna pitched in. "I heard there was a parlor on the square."
"Alright then! Ice cream it is."
❄❄❄
They pulled up to the ice cream place and parked close to the front. Elsa got out quickly and looked for a sign that might have the town's name on it. Her eyes searched the area until they found what they were looking for.
"Anna!"
"What?" She asked sweetly as she followed Elsa out the car.
"Why are we in Burgess?"
"To get you out of the house."
"And into Jack's town? I don't think so." She tried getting in the car, but Anna shut the door. Elsa heard the doors lock as Kristoff pressed the key.
"You guys can't do this to me!"
"Relax! We're getting ice cream first." Kristoff tried to help Anna out.
"First? Before we do what exactly?" Elsa questioned.
"Well, heh, we did a little research and, um, we found out where Jack lives."
"Ugh, remind me never to get in a car with you again."
Anna smiled and stuck her tongue out at Elsa. "Suck it up, you guys need to work it out."
"Anna," Elsa groaned.
"Come on, we're just having ice cream," Anna lead Elsa up to the door which Kristoff held open. "It's not like he works here!"
Elsa sighed and went in. Right away she saw a familiar white haired boy behind the counter. "Very funny, Anna."
