I Have To Wait

You smiled at yourself in their mirror as you rubbed your giant stomach.
You and your wonderful husband, Momotarou, were happily awaiting for a beautiful baby to arrive into the world.
You thought back and remembered when you had first gotten pregnant, how Momo was to excited for words and how after he calmed down he said, "Oh! Baby, I'm so excited! And I know it's going to be a girl! I just know it! And we are going to name her Andrea! We have too! Andrea Rose Mikoshiba! Don't you love it? I looked up every American name I could just so you'd be happy! Plus! I want our child to have an American name! I think it's cool! Ok?!"
You laughed softly at the thought as you smiled down at the baby in your stomach. It was pretty close to due time, you were 9 months already and the birth date was only a few days away.

The next day you were getting ready to go out and have lunch with your friend when you felt a pain in your stomach.
"Ah!...oh my...Are you serious?! Now?!" You yelled in surprise as pain struck through your body again.
You quickly called an ambulance to pick you up, telling them you were having a child.
They rushed to your apartment as fast as they could and quickly transported you to the hospital.
"Hurry doctor, the woman is in labor!" You heard the nurse yell down the hall in Japanese as they wheeled you down in a bed.
Quickly getting you hooked up to IVs and getting you prepared you started crying, "Where's my husband? Where's Momo? I need him here! I can't do this without him!"
The doctor came back into your blurry sight and said, "I'm sorry ma'am but we HAVE to deliver this child now. I'm sorry your husband isn't here, but we cannot wait." He went to the end of the bed and informed you that it was time to push.
"No! I can't! Momo wants to be here! He'd never forgive himself if he wasn't here! Please!" You begged as you involuntarily pushed.
"Just keep doing what your doing. You're doing wonderful." Ignoring your begs he continued to talk you through it as you gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, just like Momo had said.
"She's healthy and strong, I can already tell." The doctor said with a smile as he cleaned her off and gently gave her to you.
She beamed up at you brightly with beautiful orange eyes and you knew immediately that she took after her father.

Weeks later you were getting ready and you heard a knock at your door.
"Oh, Seijuurou you're here. I'm so glad to see you." You said with a smile as you hugged your husbands older brother, you smiled warmly.
"You look wonderful (Y/N). I'm happy to be here. Is anyone else here?" Looking around as he asked.
"Nope, I was almost finished getting ready." You answered fixing his tie slightly.
"Awesome. So...can I see her?" Seijuurou asked his eyes sparkling with excitement.
Laughing you nodded and lead him into the baby's room where she lay there with her wide orange eyes observing the world around her.
"She's beautiful....she looks just like Momo with those eyes." Picking her up, Seijuurou smiled warmly at you.
You giggled weakly, "She does...doesn't she?"
"So I guess we should take her to see him today. Ya think?" He asked gently just in case you were opposed to the idea.
Giving a reassuring smile you said "I was just thinking that."

As you a Seijuurou walked along the grass your heart started to become heavy at seeing him again...you hadn't seen him since the accident, and you were too scared to come by yourself...but you wanted him to see his daughter because he deserved it.
"This is it right?" Seijuurou asked as he pointed up ahead.
You saw it and smiled weakly as you approached it. "Yeah...this is his..." Coming upon a head stone with Momo's name written on it.
His family had insisted on the words being in English just for you.
Your heart ached violently as you saw it again for the first time in almost a year. Kneeling down in front of it, you smiled weakly. "H-Hey sweetie...it's been a while..." You talked shakily to the tombstone, holding your tears back and your baby girl closer.
"I had the baby...she's a girl." You giggled as tears slowly ran down your face, "Just like you said remember?" You chocked slightly on your words as the memory of the night Momo's life was taken haunted you again. You cried softly as you continued, "Th-The doctor said I cried out for you multiple times..." You laughed at yourself, "I guess even when I'm in pain I still need you." It came out as a whisper as more tears fell from your eyes.
"You know...she looks just like you. She's got your eyes, and your attitude, no doubt." You giggled as you looked down at your baby girl, thinking about Momo's cheery happy-go-lucky attitude.
Silence fell between Seijuurou, you and Momo's grave, and you finally raised your head, barely able to see in front of you behind watery eyes. Tears were streaming down your face hysterically as you weeped, "I miss you Momo." You're heart throbbed painfully as it ached for the man you loved, "I miss you so much. I need you Momotarou..." Your eyes almost pleaded with the tombstone as if it could bring back your husband.
Seijuurou smiled weakly as tears flooded his face as well, "I think it's about time we go home, huh?" He walked over to you helping you up. "Go wait for me at the car, alright?"
You nodded, "Momo...I love you my sweetheart." You told the cold grave before you left to wait for Momo's brother with Andrea.
Seijuurou waited until you left then faced the tombstone. He gazed at it for a moment, reading his younger brother's name on it over and over again. "Hey lil' bro. So...listen. I'm going to watch over (y/n) and the baby. I promise. I won't let anything ever hurt them." He said quietly with a weak smile as he wiped a few tears from his eyes. "And hey...don't feel like you coped out on them. Because you didn't. You were shot by a robber trying to defend them like any real man would. That's not a coup out. That's a husband and a father. You're a great man bro..." Seijuurou paused for a moment to let a wave of tears pass, "I love you man. I'll see you later, alright?" He said in a sad voice as he crouched down and fist bumped the tombstone like he would have his younger brother.
Seijuurou met you back at the car with a warm gentle smile, "Let's go get some good food huh?" He suggested with a sad laugh.
Smiling in return you nodded, you took one last look at the grave and blew a kiss to it, then you got in the car and drove away.
"He really was a good man, wasn't he Seijuurou?" You said quietly, as you thought about the day your husband laid down his life...for you and your child.
