Cousins

WHAT? Ano sabi niya? I was just simply acting up, I couldn't even remember why I was annoyed with him in the first place and now he's giving such sweet words?

I felt my face heating up! I can't believe that all my anger melted just because of his words.

He smiled at me "Do you want to have dinner in my condo? I can cook."

"Okay..." Damn! Hindi pa ako nakakabawi sa letter niya and now he's inviting me to his place? I couldn't even think of any excuse to say no to his offer. I can't believe he's acting like the letter is just nothing meanwhile, me, my mind is still so occupied with it.

Binuksan niya ang music sa sasakyan at nag focus sa pag-ddrive. When we arrived at his place, nagulat kami pareho sa dami ng tao sa loob ng condo niya.

"Why are you guys here?" tanong niya sa mga nasa loob.

"Look who's back!" sabi ng isang lalaki. He is tall, a bit tanned than the rest of the crew. 

Tumabi ang lalaki at inilahad nito ang isang babae na may malaking ngiti. She opened her arms waiting for Flint.

"Blaire!" Flint exclaimed and he went to hug the girl tightly. "I missed you, when did you come back?"

"This morning lang, I decided to spend my summer here." She smiled sweetly at him.

I was double thinking if I should just leave them be or say hi nang lumipat ang tingin ng matangkad na lalaki sakin.

"You might want to invite your friend in, Flint." Sabi niya habang tinitingnan ako. Humakbang pa ito papalapit sakin "Hi I'm Zaiden Hernandez, Flint's cousin. Come on in!" guiding me inside as he closes the door.

Now all their attentions are all on me. Mabilis na bumalik sa tabi ko si Flint at ipinakilala ako.

"Mischa, these are my cousins. Zaiden" turo niya sa tall guy "also my roommate. That's megan, his sister." Turo niya sa babaeng may kausap pa sa phone sa may kitchen. She smiled at me while talking and I smiled back.

"I'm Frank De Vera" lumapit ang isa pang guy na medyo may kahabaan ang buhok. He is also a bit bulkier than the rest of the guys but he smiles so widely. "and that's my brother Frost" turo niya sa lalaking nakaupo lang sa sofa busy scolling on his phone. He only looked at me to smile a bit then went back to his business.

Ibinalik ni Flint ang attention ko sa kanya by slightly tugging my arm. "And this is my sister, Blaire. She just went back from Austrailia." Turo niya sa babaeng niyakap niya kanina.

"Hi!" Blaire exclaimed in a high pitched tone and went to hug me. I was quite taken aback but hugged her back too.

"And guys, this is Mischa." Huminto siya saglit at tumikhim "My friend."

Napataas ang isang kilay ni Blaire while Zaiden ask me loud "Are you single? Mischa?"

I laughed awkwardly "Mish nalang that's what my friends call me, and yes...single."

Naramdaman kong muli ang paghawak ni Flint sa kamay ko kaya nilingon ko ito. He didn't look back though, instead he asked his cousins. "You guys are going out tonight?"

"Yep. We were gonna celebrate Blaire's comeback." Si Zaiden

"We stopped here para hintayin ka... or kayo." Dagdag ni Frank.

He turned to look at me, nag isip saglit bago humarap ulit sa kanila "I won't be able to go with you. Mischa and I have plans for tonight."

Zaiden gasped, Frank exagerately acted shocked, Megan was doing something but stopped when she heard Flint's words then smirked, Frost didn't bother looking up at us and Blaire laughed out loud.
