Ease

Inside my dad's study, both my parents were there with me. My mom gave me a reasurring look that everything will be fine. And dad is currently talking business with grandma. All of them are pretty chill at ako lang ang tensed.

Pagkatapos nilang mag usap, bumaling siya sa akin. "Mischa." My grandma started. "Ano ang plano mo pagkatapos ng graduation?"

I was a bit taken aback, hindi ko pa napagiisipan iyon. "I... haven't thought about that yet. I have 1 last week in OJT pa pagkatapos ay magfofocus sa thesis."

She nodded. "Okay good. Pagisipan mo kung gusto mong mag work sa company ng daddy mo pagkatapos ng graduation or you could also come with me to Malaysia if you want more trainings, I could train you more."

"Y-Yes po." I stuttered, feeling pressured with her task.

"Now, onto the next thing. Are you seeing someone?" diretso niyang tanong.

Agad kong naramdaman ang pagtindi ng kaba. I felt like I did something very very bad and now I'm being interrogated! Hindi ako nakasagot agad, I found my mom's eyes again and she gave me another nod.

My grandma continued. "Child, if you're worried about me arranging your marriage, don't. I have already talked to your parents about this. I totally think that boy's proposal is stupid! It wasn't the right place for a confession pero if you two are really serious, I would want to meet the boy."

"He...He is pursuing me. Iyon palang po." I stuttered again.

"You like him back? If not, don't waste your time and I can recommend someone else to you. It's only right for you to start dating now. You are getting older, and I would definitely want to see you getting settled at mid-20s like Alaine."

Hindi ako makasagot sa kaba.

"Give the children a chance, mama." My dad said.

"Then, ask the boy to see me, Mischa. Papuntahin mo sakin bago ako bumalik ng Malaysia. I will be in the Philippines for the next two weeks."

I went straight to my room after the meeting. Hindi ko maintindihan ang nangyari. I can't seem to get a grasp on the situation no matter how many times I replay what my grandma said in my head.

I went inside the bathroom to take a warm bath. Woah, this night has been so draining. I know what happened is actually not a negative thing, my grandma giving Flint and I a chance to be together without me even asking.

What got stuck in my head is actually when grandma said 'if you two are really serious...' Serious? How would I know if he's REALLY serious? Are his actions enough for me to say he really is? Pano kung serious lang siya ngayon pero sa future magbago iyon? What if he falls out of love? I don't know anymore... I have so many questions in my head and I feel lost as no one can answer it for me.

The next day I woke up from a knock in my room.

"Ate?" I heard Leon calling. Mabilis akong bumangon para pagbuksan siya ng pinto. "You should fix yourself up ate, nasa baba si Kuya Ace at Kuya Flint." Sabi niya nang nakita ang ayos ko.

"Sino?" Did I mishear him? Panaginip ba ito? "What are they doing here?"

He shrugged at nagtataka niya akong tiningnan like how would he know the answer. Lumabas siya para siguro bumalik sa baba leaving me freaking out.

Literal na nabuhusan ako ng malamig na tubig dahil hindi ko napansing nasa cold pala ang shower nang buksan ko ito.

Sa panic ko ilang minuto lang ay nakapagayos na ako at handa nang bumaba. Nagbody wash ako right? I recalled in my head as I walk downwards our grand staircase.
