You all were camping in the middle of a beautiful forest for the night. The next morning, you were packing up and getting ready to leave again.
"Where's Momo?" Aang asked. That's when you heard a screech off in the distance. All four of you follow the screaming to a bare patch in the forest. Up above you hung Momo in a trap and two other wild animals.
"Well ain't that dandy," you said, looking up.
"Hang on Momo!" Aang used his wind to spiral up to his cage. He slowly lowered the trap down to the ground. You flipped it over to its side and held the metal apart. Momo happily jumped out of it. You inspected the metal, gliding your hand down it. You moved to the side when the other traps fell to the ground, releasing the other animals.
"These are Fire Nation traps," you said, "The metalwork is consistent with it. Pack up camp and let's get moving."
~
You all returned back to the temporary campsite and packed up everything."Uh uh! No flying this time," Sokka scolded you three.
"Why can't we fly?" You asked atop of the saddle.
"Think about it," Sokka said, "Somehow Prince Zuko and the Fire Nation keep finding us. It's because they spot Appa, he's just too noticeable."
"What? Appa's not too noticeable," Katara defended.
"Katara, dear, Appa's a giant, fluffy, flying monster with an arrow on his head--it's kinda hard to miss him," you said. Appa growled in unamusement.
"Y/n's just jealous because she doesn't have an arrow," Aang said genty.
"I know you all want to fly, but my instincts tell me we should play it safe this time and walk," Sokka said.
"Who made you the boss?" Katara asked.
"I'm not the boss, I'm the leader," Sokka replied. You jumped off of Appa and landed right next to him.
"You're full of shit," you said, "Your voice still cracks."
"i'M tHe OlDeSt, AnD i'M a WaRrIoR! so I'm the leader."
"If anyone's the leader, it's Aang," Katara said, "I mean, he is the Avatar."
"Katara," you called.
"What?"
"Aang is a goofy 12 year old child."
The three of you looked at Aang who was hanging upside down on Appa's horn."She's right."
"Why do y'all boys always think there has to be a leader?" You asked, crossing your arms. "All of us contribute something to the team."
"Look, my instincts tell me we have a better chance of slipping through on foot, and a leader has to trust his instincts."
"Maybe..." You put a hand on his shoulder. "If you opened yourself to being protected, and not always having to shoulder the burden, you'd realize not everything is about being the leader."
"It's my job, I have to," Sokka replied.
"No, you don't," you emphasized, "But if you're so adament, we'll try it your way."
"Who knows? Walking might be fun," Aang said, already carrying things on his back.
"It's not," you replied, brushing past all of them.
~
"Walking stinks! How did people go anywhere without a flying bison?"
You sighed, trying to drone out the siblings bickering and Aang's whining."Hey Aang? Love you dearly, but quit your bitchin' before the Avatar cycle ends here."
"... sorry..."
"Look guys, I'm tired too. But the important thing is that we're safe from the Fire Nation," Sokka said, walking through two small bushes. You all followed him... right into a Fire Nation campsite. All heads turned to you.
"Nice job, genius," you deadpanned.
"RUN!" Sokka yelled. All of you removed your luggage and tried to run, but one of the soldiers set the bush ablaze.
"We're cut off!" Sokka exclaimed.
"Sokka, your shirt!"
You rolled your eyes and brought the water from your flask, whipping the fire from his clothes. The soldiers backed you up against the flames. You looked at the burning bush.'Better to get rid of them, first.' You thought.
"If you let us pass, we promise not to hurt you," Sokka said.
"What are you doing?" Katara whispered.
"Bluffing," he whispered back.
"You promise not to hurt us?" One of them mocked.
"Well, we might not... but she will." Sokka smirked.
"Huh?"
You jumped over Sokka, using your water to whip their feet out from under them. One of the soldiers tried to bend fire at you, but stopped, then fell forward. You also froze and watched him."Nice work, Y/n! How'd you do that?" Aang asked happily. You stared blankly at him.
"I didn't."
"Look!" Katara pointed up towards a tree. You looked up and saw a boy standing on a branch.
"Oh great... another hero to save the day," you muttered angrily. The boy drew his hook swords and swung from the branch, taking out a couple of soldiers. Then he flipped two more. You looked up.
"They're in the trees!" You yelled. That made the soldiers look up. You used your water to sweep them up. Spinning on your foot, you smashed them into a tree. You then noticed a couple of other people had joined you.
"Okay, that's it, this is taking too long," you growled. You used your water to sweep up all the soldiers into a water ball. You continuously moved your arms in circles and the water spun with them. You could hear the bubbly screaming of those inside it. You took a step to the side and threw your arms out. The water ball crashed into a tree, subsequently knocking all of them out at once. You suddenly turned, aiming your water for the rogue soldier you missed, however, the mystery boy came and whipped him out of the way. You forced your water to stop. The boy turned around and stood directly in front of you. He was taller than you, so you had to look up at him.
"Hey," he said, chewing a leaf in his mouth.
"Hi," you replied blankly. You looked to the side and saw the strangers raiding the camp of any supplies.
"You just took out a whole army almost single handed," Aang said, walking up to you.
"Army?!" Sokka exclaimed.
"Single handed?!" You followed him. Aang flinched and protected himself. You just sighed and crossed your arms. The boy walked away from you.
"My name is Jet," he said, "And these are my Freedom Fighters. Sneers, Longshot, Smellerbee, the Duke, and Pipsqueak."
"Nice names," you said flatly. Aang went off to go talk to Pipsqueak and the Duke. You looked around at the Freedom Fighters.
'Hm...' You thought, narrowing your eyes at Jet.
Ja ne!
