Potato Soup
(S.H.I.E.L.D HELICARRIER)
REWRITTEN
THIRD PERSON P.O.V
The Avengers stared at Nicholas Fury with apprehension in their eyes—waiting for answers. Fury only crossed his arms and shifted his weight.
"I have nothing to sa—" a loud slam cut him off as Clint Barton's hand came down onto the metal table.
"Damn you, Fury." He seethed as all eyes shot to him. "I'm completely sick of all the secrets. We're suppose to be a team—teams don't work if we're lying to one another."
Clint was on his feet now, glaring across the table at the Director. "Now you want us to help you find your adopted kid—that we just yesterday, learned existed—but refuse to tell us the possible motive behind Loki's actions and expect us to find her. I'm sorry Sir, but that isn't how this works."
The bridge was deathly quiet, all eyes watching Clint and the Director. Fury shifted his weight his weight and his infamous frown crossed his lips.
"Agent Barton," he announced and Clint was struck with the smallest bit of regret. Had he gone too far?
"You bring up a reasonable argument." The whole room seemed to visually sigh in relief.
"I see now how not supplying you with all of the facts, present difficulties." Fury explained, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Well?" Tony urged. The Avengers all looked on impatiently.
"Lorien is Loki's biological younger sister."

FOSTER SUMMER HOUSE, COLORADO
LORIEN'S P.O.V
I quickly found my way back the living room and settled down on one of the couches. I stretched and let out a long yawn.
"I see that you found something." I almost jumped two feet. I turned, looking over the back of the couch at Jane—who stood in the kitchen. She laughed at my wide eyes. "Sorry, didn't mean to startle you."
I shrugged and gave her a smile. "It's fine."
"By the way, thanks for the clothes." I added after.
"No problem," Jane explained. "It's not like I can really wear them any more."
Her attention turned to Darcy—smacking her friend's hand away from the potatoes she was cutting up. I stifled a laugh and rolled my eyes.
"Where's Loki and Thor." I asked, realizing that they weren't in the living room.
"Out back," Darcy mumbled—mouth full of raw, stolen potato pieces. "Probably doing some sorta secret godly stuff."
Jane sighed, smacking Darcy's hand again. "If you do go back there, be careful."
I didn't stay to ask her what she meant. I got up quickly and headed towards the back of the house. As I neared the back door, I could hear voices. Loki's and Thor's. I froze mid-step and crouched down as not to be seen through the glass of the door.
"Loki, Fury is relentless. I know you believed kidnapping Lorien was the correct form of action but he does not." Thor explained, a scowl crossed Loki's lips.
"She is my sister—my only remaining family. How is that wro-" Thor's features were full with hurt as he cut Loki off.
"Loki, she is as much your sister as you are my brother—blood or not."
"You know what I mean." Loki hissed through his teeth. He began crossing his arms but he froze—his gaze shooting in the direction of the back door. Really?
"Lorien," Loki scolded, "it is impolite to eavesdrop." A sigh escaped my lips as I stood up. I pushed the door open, stepping out and giving Loki a wide grin.
"It is also impolite to kidnap people." I mocked, mimicking is accent almost perfectly. Loki rolled his eyes and Thor let out a loud chuckle.
"I do believe that I will leave you to handle this one by yourself, brother." Thor joked. He turned and started up towards the house, patting my head gently as he passed me. Once he vanished into the house, Loki motioned me over to him.
I shrugged and made my way over to him but not before mirroring his crossed arms. "Yes?"
"I did not kids–"
"Yes you did." I cut him off. "And for the record, you're lucky I like you because if I didn't I'd be trying my hardest to get home." I explained, Loki's eyes widened ever slightly.
"You like me?" He stammered in disbelief. I shrugged again.
"Look, I know what you did in Manhattan and almost two days ago the fact that we're siblings gets dropped in us. I don't think it would be fair not to give you a chance. Besides, I don't think you're as evil as you try and make people believe." Loki's face had become unreadable as I finished.
"You are being naïve. You have no idea what I have do—"
"Dude, you freaked when you thought I was going to die—not to mention you've hugged me. Try again." Loki was silent.

Darcy called us in for dinner soon after I managed to leave Loki speechless. Loki followed me back up to the house and towards the kitchen but by the time I got there, he had disappeared into one of the rooms.
"Where's Loki?" Darcy asked as I entered the room alone. I frowned and gave her a half-hearted shrug.
"I thought he was following me." I mused, glancing behind myself.
"Well, come eat. I'm sure that if he grows hungry, he'll come back out." Jane explained with a small smile resting on her lips. Jane was very motherly, I had decided. Well, what I perceived as motherly, I didn't really have a mother growing up.
"Alright," I sighed, claiming the seat next to Darcy. I waited patiently as Jane brought a pan over to the table—and let me tell you, whatever it was, it smelt heavenly.
"It was probably a good idea that you let me stop at that grocery store on the way here or we wouldn't be eating tonight." Jane exclaimed, letting her voice raise as to let it reach Loki's ears. With no reply, Jane sat down, grumbling something under her breath.
"Jane, it really wasn't that big of a deal." Darcy sighed, already helping herself to the contents of the pan—which I had discovered was potato soup.
"He started arguing with me and it distracted me! I almost hit someone!" Jane fumed. Darcy gave her a thumbs up.
"At least Thor was safely inside the vehicle this time."
"Shut up."
