Chapter 37

Meghan's POV:

I wake up to my phone ringing. Slightly confused I reach over and answer it. I realize it's a facetime request from Emily.

"Hey, Oh did I wake you? I'm sorry"

"Hmm... Hi." I say as I put my head back down on the pillow.

"I'm surprised you were still asleep," she says. I open my eyes and am met by her beautiful face looking back at me. "It is like 10:00 am. You don't usually sleep in."

"Ya... I had a bit of a rough night."

"Oh?"

"Ya... Kelley took me to therapy yesterday and then I fell asleep on the couch. I guess she startled me when I woke up cause I took a swing at her and hit her in the face. Then I kinda freaked out..."

"Oh... ya... well..." she just looks back at me not knowing what to say.

"Ya... It's all good now. We worked everything out. It's all good. And I didn't break her nose either so that's good.

Em laughs at me. "Ya I guess so! Anyways I just wanted to see your beautiful face."

"Aww, I miss you too."

We talked for a while about everything and nothing. I miss her a lot. When she is around she holds me while I sleep. I miss that safe feeling. Eventually, she has to go to practice and I am getting hungry so I make it out of bed.

"Good morning or is it afternoon?" Becky laughs at me as I come down to get my breakfast even though she is right it's lunchtime.

"Hi, Becky. I was talking to Emily."

"Oh I see," she says with a smirk. Oh great now she knows. Uhhh... "How is she?"

"She's good. I miss her a lot."

"Ya, but you will see her in a week."

I smile thinking about it. I can't wait to see her and the other girls.

"Hey! Good morning!" Kelley says as she comes down the stairs.

"Hi." I look over to see her in her training gear. She is going back to training today. I miss being able to play. Even when we go to camp I can't practice or play which sucks. I just can't wait to get back to it. I have been doing some of the light exercises the physical therapist showed me but I just want to get back with a ball at my feet. I guess Kelley reads my mind.

"You'll be back soon. Don't worry... Actually do you want to come to training with us? You can't do much but then you can meet the girls too."

"Umm... really?" I ask looking back and forth from her to Becky.

"Ya... I mean what are you going to do here all day."

"Ok ya sure. When do you need to leave? I need to change and get ready."

"You got 30 minutes kid," Becky says looking at her phone.

"Ok! I'll be back in a few." I take the last bite of my cereal and head upstairs to change out of my pajamas.

Soon enough we are in the car on the way to training. Kelley is playing some crazy music and Becky is not having it. It is actually hilarious to watch. We stop and pick up Christen on the way too. It is good to see her again. Finally, we pull up to the stadium they are practicing at.

"Ok, here we are. So Meghan you can probably just sit on the sidelines and hang out. But first, we are introducing you to everyone!" Kelley seems so excited to show me off. It's actually adorable. She's good at this whole Mom thing I'm realizing the more situations we are in.
