Thank you, Kelley

Chapter 14

Emily's POV:

WOW. I can't believe that I one got her to share about her past, two all that happened to her, and three that she is ok with us telling the team.

Kelley and I are making our way down to dinner now.

"Wow..." is all I manage as we get on the elevator.

"Yup... I don't know how to help her." Kelley states. We embrace in a hug as we both are feeling so emotionally overwhelmed.

"So we are going to tell the team," I say, still holding onto her.

I hear a muffled "yup"

Kelley has always been there for me. Everybody always sees her as this silly, crazy childlike person but I know a different side of her. She and I got really close when I first joined the National team. She has helped me through so much. There was a period there where I was in a really bad place and Kelley was there for me through the whole thing. I stayed at Kelley's apartment here in DC with her during the offseason and she is honestly the reason I am still alive. I could never thank her enough for that.

I can see the same protective fire in her eyes anytime we talk about Meghan as she did back when she basically had to take care of me. I don't know what the future is gonna hold for Meghan but I know for a fact Kelley isn't going to let anything happen to her.

I am suddenly pulled out of my thoughts when the elevator beeps and the doors open. Kelley and I are still hugging.

"Hey... ahh, guys? You good there?" I hear Pinoe say. Kelley and I pull away from each other giggling but we both have tears in our eyes.

"Woah what happened. Is everything ok?" Pinoe's tone changes as she sees the tears in our eyes.

"Ya... it's ok. Well, not exactly but it will be. We will tell everyone at dinner." Kelley says.

We go about our normal business as everyone gets their dinner and sits down. We let everyone have their fun conversation not wanting to ruin the mood. Kelley and I are sitting next to each other so when the time comes we can tell everyone. Suddenly someone says,

"Hey, where's Meghan?" I glance at Kelley. Well now is as good a time as ever.

"She is back up in our room. She ahh... had kind of a rough day." I say not really knowing where to start. Luckily for me, Kelly takes over.

"Actually guys we have something to tell you all." Suddenly the whole room is looking at Kelley.

"Ah... So Meghan opened up to us about her past and why she has panic attacks. She asked us to tell you guys..." Kelly continues and tells them the story of her life leaving out some of the details. I look around the room and can see tears in most people's eyes. We continue our somber conversation for a while. People have a lot of questions and Kellye and I do our best to answer them. Eventually, we all start to head back up to our rooms. I have a small container with some spaghetti and meat sauce for Meghan. I figured it was good comfort food.

Kelley and I are going back to my room when I hear Ash behind us. "Hey, do you think we can come and talk to Meghan. I mean we don't want to overwhelm her but I want to make sure she knows we are there for her." I can see Ali standing next to her holding her hand. Side note they are so cute together I was so excited when they finally admitted their feelings to each other.

Kelley and I both nod. " I think Meghan would like that," I say. And with that, the four of us enter our room.

"Hey, we're back and brought some visitors."

Meghan's POV:

I haven't really moved since the girls went down to have dinner. I just lay there on my bed thinking about how my life may change over the next couple of years. It's a lot.
