Allison's POV

I opted out of the Devils Creed BBQ. Instead, I have my textbook busted open, my laptop on Microsoft word and I was currently writing a paper on robotics.

Mechanical engineer was my go-to when I finished my vocational training to become a certified mechanic. I had two years under my belt working with Roadkill at his shop.

Then I decided to do online schooling while I traveled. I only had a year left and I'll have my bachelor's in mechanical engineering. I've been accepted to do my last year at Clemson University and I start in a few weeks.

However, I'm finishing up my summer quarter with my online schooling.

After my ass started to hurt, I got up and poured myself a glass of wine. I was wearing my peach colored yoga pants with the matching cropped sweater.

I was completely comfortable and relaxed.

The doorbell rang and I figured it was just Arabella. It was about 11pm and I figured she forgot her keys or one of the prospects were bringing her drunk ass home.

I opened the door with a bright smile just to have it vanish the moment I see who is standing at my door.

A very sexy but a FURIOUS Reaper.

Shit.

I went to close the door, but he stopped it with his monstrous hands.

Oh, how I missed the way he used to play me like a violin with those hands.

"Allison." His voice was deep and melodious.

"Reaper." I replied back trying to fake confidence even though I felt none.

"It's been awhile."

"Mmhmm."

He took a step forward and I took a step back. He was eyeing me up and down like he was looking for something. Maybe an answer as to why I left. But I won't tell him.

"You look good."

His comment threw me off guard. What do I say back?

"Uh, thanks."

My blonde hair was flowing down back in loose curls and as it tickled my back, I could only think about the last night we were together. How he had wrapped his hands through my hair and yanked my head back.

I squeezed my thighs together. Right now, was not the appropriate time to be having those thoughts.

But he noticed as a smirk appeared on his face.

"Missed me?"

I stood shocked.

Hell, yea I missed him. Sex with anyone else was a disappointment. I was faking my orgasms and then heading to the bathroom to get myself off.

"What do you want Reaper?"

"Answers."

"I can't give you that."

He took a menacing step forward and I took another one back.

"Why not?"

"BECAUSE I CAN'T!" I shouted at him.

His eyes went wide as he stared at me. I've never raised my voice to him. In the two years we were together, I never got loud with him and we barely argued. But this time he needs to understand. I can't tell him what he wants to know.

I could feel the tears bubbling in my eyes and blurring my vision. But I couldn't tell him. I wanted to. I wanted to tell him everything and let him cuddle me and tell me it was going to be okay. But I can't and nothing will be okay.
